For once, it's the tourists who get it right – locals almost never experience Copenhagen in this way, and they're missing out on a treat, experiencing the old city centre from a different perspective and seeing almost all the downtown attractions from the water. Canal Tours Copenhagen offer four different tours of the city, ranging from 60-75 minutes in duration, both with or without a guide. They leave from Gammel Strand and Nyhavn, with longer ones taking you as far as the Little Mermaid and out into the Oeresund Channel to the tiny fortress island of Trekroner. On Sunday and Thursday evenings during summer months there's even a 90-minute jazz cruise, with live music aboard the boat.Armed with a strong fleet of 16 comfortable boats, six of which are heated and covered, the Canal Tours takes you through a guided journey along the city s harbor and canal. At least one of the multilingual staff members is always onboard, enlightening guests on the picturesque surroundings. Choose from the various tours available. And for something unusual, go for the Dinner Cruise, where you can enjoy a delectable meal as you cruise along the waters. And if you have charted your own itinerary, then just go ahead and rent one of our boats.

The boats have inside and outside areas so that you can take the tour in all weathers! There is also some commentary to point out buildings of note and interesting sights and plenty of chance to take photos. The tour is free with the Copenhagen Card if you take the boat from Gammel Strand collection point.

Despite it raining when taking this trip it didn't detract from the experience as we got to see plenty of the attractions of the city which we chose to visit on foot later. Some good photo opportunities are around every corner with the Opera house, Nyhavn, museums, palaces and churches all part of the trip and of course the little... More

We took the canal tour and got to see all the major sights in Copenhagen from the canals. From there we chose which sites we wanted to visit personally. It is a good tour to take and the tour guide explains all the sights in at least 3 languages - Danish, English and Spanish and are very helpful. Well maintained.

My wife and I booked the 1 hour canal tour online before our trip. On the day of our tour, we were informed that the water levels were much higher than normal and there would be a detour on the trip. Nevertheless, in spite of the exceptionally high water levels, the captain and the guide were exceptional in trying to... More

This is a must do - particularly if you purchase a Copenhagen card - we purchased two 120 hours cards for £75 online prior to our visit - This tour is one of the free ones using the card - you need to make sure that you go to the correct starting point at Gammel Strand The tour is approximately... We opted for the combine ticket (Bus and Canal tours), the ticket is valid for 48 hours "hop on - hop off". It is a good value for money and a great way to see Copenhagen, especially for first impression. Drivers are very helpful and most people speak good English. For a connection with the Canal tours use Bus stop... More

Beautiful sight-seeing...nice tour. Nice atmosphere. The weather was comfortable, it was summer. Though it got a bit windy sometime. When we were going by the boat, people were waving at us. And we were waving back... A very peaceful country, indeed. Danish people are good and friendly.

Very nice canal tour in Copenhagen. Despite the very very cold weather, it was covered and warm so we enjoyed the trip. It visited most important attractions in the city. It costs only 11€ for more than 1 hour tour.

Don't get me wrong it was good, but it just felt empty. Large boat, audio tour...You just lose that personal touch you get from a small boat and an enthusiastic tour guide. For the price it was worth it, I'd much rather pay a bit more and get the whole experience and learn some quirky insights into the areas I'm... More

I took my children on such a Canal Tour when they were much younger than they are today. My daughter was only 5 years old at the time and my son was 7 years old. They both really enjoyed sitting in an open Canal Boat sailing up and down the Øresund and the connecting Canals that crisscross Copenhagen. They could... More
