About
beCopenhagen offer high quality experiences based on our professional insight in architecture and urbanism. Our mission is to share the city that we know by heart from our own personal perspectives. As locals, we focus on matters that have an actual impact on everyday life in the present (and less on history and trivia), such as narrow streets, livability, urban life, architecture, cycling culture, Nordic cuisine, vibrant nightlife, urban development, sustainability, …and more. This all contributes to the world's best quality of life. And it's what we as locals find the most important and unique to Copenhagen. As true Copenhageners, we are keen on bikes and cycling. So when we include you in city life, there’s only one way – the local way. And that’s the bike way!

Our family booked a 4 hour Architectural bike tour with Alice. Having a 14 and 17 year old I was slightly apprehensive that they would find it slightly dull, but to the contrary. Both teens and ourselves cannot speak highly enough of our 4 hours with Alice. She was incredibly knowledgeable and engaging and gave us a real flavor of life in Copenhagen. We saw things we wouldn't have seen otherwise and learnt so much about the Copenhagen way of life. Even stopping to enjoy a coffee in a hidden library in an old candle factory. The bikes were great quality and easy to use and cycling in the city was a complete joy. I would highly recommend anyone to do this tour, even with no real interest in architecture.

The tours by beCopenhagen were the highlight of my stay in Copenhagen. Asser, the guide, being an architect himself, was excellent, very friendly and passionate about his job and gave us many details about the Danish culture and the architecture around the city. I would highly recommend these tours to everyone who wants to enjoy the experience of cycling around Copenhagen and getting a deeper insight into the Danish culture and architecture from an expert's perspective. I will definitely repeat! Thank you for such a lovely ride.

I wanted a better than average tour of copenhagen. Obviously I thought a bicycle tour would be more authentic than a boat, bus or segway tour. I was not disappointed. No better way to tour Copenhagen than olby bike!
The tour was not nerdy architecture. It was more like the story of copenhagen over the past 50 years. We visited the normal building highlights and some way out of the way places with quirky stories and design. All the while it was captivating.
My 13 year old also loved the tour. I think many kids get tired of city history tours. An architecture tour actually allows them to express an opinion and think a bit more.
As a Dubliner, the story of copenhagen is very compelling as we go through the same issues, struggles and good and bad decisions.
4 hours sounds like a lot, but it really flew. Highly recommended for everyone.

Biking in Copenhagen is great, beeing guided by Alice is superb, her background information and knowlegde about the city development let you experience copenhagen even more intense. You should have an interest in architecture and city planning, even on the normal tour. Bikes were good.

Asser gave us an intimate perspective on Copenhagen's architecture and culture on a fun exploration through the history of this beautiful city. He was very accommodating and approachable, so you don't need to be an architecture buff to enjoy this tour. We learned about the 18th century fires which shaped the city, urbanism and cycling infrastructure and modern developments which we interacted with during this well-paced tour. I highly recommend it!

We rented an e-bike to cruise around the city, and it was a perfect quality bike. The people working there are very helpful and flexible about returning times. They gave great tips and were so nice. Thanks a lot for a great time in Copenhagen!

This was a very special experience with a knowledgeable and passionate guide who shared a lot of insights about the key architectural works in the city in recent years. The quality and special characteristics of the buildings in the city as well as their interest in sustainability make this tour a top priority besides it being a pleasure. The bikes are way better than in the city tours other companies offer. Do not miss this tour and make sure to check you are around on the days this is available!

This is presented as an architectural bike tour, although it is more than this. Alice talks about a city that she loves, with the social aspect of city living entwined with a balanced descriptions of buildings and their origins. Great, highly recommended

We did the 4 hours contemporary architecture tour. This tour takes you quickly outside the city centre to interesting places under the expert guidance by Asser. Asser is a very nice person and an expert in the history of urban development of Copenhagen. It was very interesting to listen to his views from his perspective as an architect. The tour is very complementary to classical tours of the more traditional tourist attractions (which we also did). Strongly recommended!

We had a wonderful and very interesting tour by bike with Alice today! We took a (private) “Essential” tour and we got a very interesting and well elaborated explanation about the recent urbanization of the city of Copenhagen, from a mobility and architecture perspective. You really feel that she is passionate about this theme and has been right in the middle of it through her professional activities. Both we, as parents, as our teenage children were very impressed. Highly recommended.

Hi.
Thanks for your question!
Unfortunately, we have no Italian speaking guides, so we can't offer that on short notice. This Sunday we have an architecture bike tour with Else, that you can book through our website.
Thanks!
Best regards, Asser, beCopenhagen.

Hi there, we're coming in on a cruise that arrives at 0800. We'd love to do the 1000 tour. Any experience with cruise visitors not being able to make it on time? (we are generally timely, but not sure about the logistics of getting from cruise port to the meeting place). Also have two eleven year olds, who are fairly experienced bikers. Thanks!

Hi, thanks for asking!
It should NOT take 2 hours going from either of the cruise terminals. There are in fact two, one closer to the city center than the other, but in the worst morning traffic, the transit in my estimation would be up to 45 minutes. And you could walk the distance in that time.
I hope to see you here :)
Thanks.
Best regards, Asser, beCopenhagen.

Asser, I am an architect, and will be in Copenhagen next week with my wife, and would be interested in a tour of some of the cool new architecture. Happy to consider bike or walking, Do you have tours set up for next week? or is it private?

Hi Asser, there's a group of 3 of us (adults) looking to do the Modern Architecture tour this coming Thursday - June 1. I don't see a tour offered that day.
Can you let me know if you'd be able to take us out. Thanks! Gregg

Hi Gregg, thanks for asking :)
I have a tour Friday but not Thursday. If it must be Thursday, it's going to be a private tour in the morning (until 1pm at the latest) just for the three of you - and with your preferences :) Would that work? Please write me back at kontakt@becopenhagen.dk, I'll see that right away. Thanks.

Which tour did you take? The website has several to choose from: architecture, culture, family. I have a 13 and 15 year old boy.

Hi Jennifer, thanks for asking 😊 If your boys are active and more likely to prefer the fun of the me-movers, I'd recommend the family tour. But if they'd also like to know a bit og background about Copenhagen, the bike lanes and the harbor front, the urban culture tour would also qualify.
We do adapt the tours to the participants, of course, so as much as possible we'll accomodate for your boys, and they'll habe opportunity to a lot og fun on al tours.
Please ask again if you need more answers...
Best regards, Asser Munch, beCopenhagen.

Hi there, we are a group of 4 adults travelling and will be in your beautiful city from the 16th July for 5 days should we book now before we arrive and also what fitness level would you suggest one has to have as one of the adults is 66 and only a mild walker.
Thank you for your time
Regards Sue

Hi Sue.
Thanks for contacting us. I will suggest you book now or at least a few days before the tour.
You don't have to be particularly athletic to ride the Me-Mover. It's much more about balance and agility. Everyone (without explicit handicaps) who can ride a regular bike and who gives it a decent try can ride it, but if it turns out to be too much of a challenge or inconvenience, we have some slightly more regular bikes - but don't tell anyone, I really want everyone to give it a try :)
We have had people older than 80 riding the Me-Movers, so my best bet is that also your 66 year old can handle the Me-Mover just fine.
I hope to see you in July, thanks.
Asser Munch, beCopenhagen.
