The square has been under renovation for 20 years. From they built a horrible bus terminal and tore it down, to pavement gone for decades, and now building the Metro, finished when I am dead. Trash everywhere, like in the rest of Copenhagen, cheap trashy shops and McDonalds. Hurry all the way through the pedestrian street to the other end... More

Our otherwise beutiful city completely fails on having an environment at the central city-hall square. Practically all other European countryes would have dug down H.C. Andersens Boulevard in a tunnel, because cars have absolutly no business there. On the surface of the tunnel there woud be only buses, taxis and bicycles, and plenty of room for cafees, artists, street life.... More

It's a beautiful square in the heart of Copenhagen. Loads of events always happening inside and out of the townhall. It's always nice to just sit around and people watch. The free toilets on the square are amazingly clean too!!

Copenhagen city hall square is a very nice place. Here starts one of Europe's biggest walking streets. It is also house to the magnificent Copenhagen city hall. It would be all nice and all, except... The city hall square is full of construction work since years and there isn't seem to be an end to that in site.

Some nice buildings around the square, which you need to cross as you proceed from Central Station, past Tivoli to the Stroget (main shopping/pedestrian road) which leads you to Nyhavn. It houses the Palace Hotel where I stayed. Probably not worth a journey just to see the Square

This beautiful and vast square lies next to the lovely town hall. It includes a fountain and several statues, including a wonderful statue of Hans Christian Andersen. While there was nothing special happening in the square while we were there (except for the Eurovision countdown clock), it was still a nice stroll through the huge square.

Look out for the weather girl on the Richs building, the statues of bronze age horn blowers and memorial to the wars of Schleswig Holstein. The buildings in the square are in a National Romantic style with medieval Italian influence. The city hall itself hold art displays and can be walked about. There is a fascinating timepiece in a room... More

This city hall square was great and very spacious. The usual hotdog stall was out on the square which was great! What I liked about this square is it had a nice communal feel to it with the city hall one side, Tivoli garden the other, Stroget the next side and nice restaurants along the fourth edge. A good central... More

The metro extension building site took up half of the square so we didn't get to see it in its entirety. However, it is very pleasant to stroll around given the nice buildings.
