I was so happy to find this fountain again, after having seen it more than twenty years earlier. During these past twenty years, I have had vivid pictures in my mind of the fountain with the oxen and the spraying water.

One of the best places in copenhagen in my humble opinion. Of course this place attracts tourists....but find a place in the sun and enjoy the view over the harbour and take a walk at the Citadel.

Nice and cozy spot just next to Amalienborg. The Gefion Fountain features a scenic view over the harbo and the Opera.

Huge in scale, and impressive in the movement and energy of its sculptures, this is still more a summer site - with the fountain turned off for the winter, it really wasn't at it's best. Having said that, it was intriguing enough that I would go back in the spring or summer!

The area in general should be seen if you are at copenhagen. Very close to the other attractions such as mermaid, marble church, design museum. It's nice option to visit on sunday very relaxing.

In the same area is Churchillparken, a lovely park near the Gefion Fountain, Kastellet, St. Albans Church and the Museum of Danish Resistance, and not too far from the Little Mermaid.

A number of tourist attractions in Copenhagen are within walking distance of the Nyhaven district. One of these is the Gefion fountain close to St.Albans church. While it may not be a large fountain, it still has a lot of character and is sculptured extremely ornate. The good thing is that it is surrounded by things to see, The Little... More
