I loved this fountain. It had not planned on seeing it, but came across it on the way to the Little Mermaid. Definitely worth seeing. Skip the mermaid if you are short on time, and go here instead.

This fountain sculpture is absolutely beautiful - the bulls are depicted so vividly and the use of water is amazing. Seriously amazing.

This huge fountain was on the way to the Little Mermaid. Very interesting with unusual imagery beautiful cascade especially on a warm day.. It is accessible on all sides and seemed larger than life. If any one knows why it and the fountain of the Amalie castle had red water I would love to know.

The Story is almost as great as the statue. The goddess Gefion was offered as much land in Sweden as she was able to plow during one day and one night by the Swedish King Gylfe. To accomplish this she turned her four sons into four oxen. Gefion and the oxen managed to plow out Zealand the Island where Copenhagen... More

The fountain is stunning and the story behind it is funny. On a sunny day you can get some good photos or selfies if you are into that. :)

It features a large group oxen being driven by the legendary Norse goddess Gefjun. The wind on the day we were there made a terrific spray. Magnificent expressions on animals make this a very expressive fountain.

If you like fountains – this is one fountain you will see while on your way to see the Little Mermaid and passing through the Kastellet. The fountain is quite magnificent and is based on a myth about a woman and her sons (oxen) ploughing the land where eventually Zealand is now located.

While we were walking around Copenhagen we came across the Gefion Fountain, it's based on the harbour front, it features a large scale of animal figures and is the largest monument in Copenhagen and is used as a wishing well, it's well worth a visit if you are in the area.
