Very large, Gefion Fountain is a dominate structure, although it is 'only' a fountain. Adjacent to St. Alban Church, Gefion Fountain is the largest fountain in Copenhagen. Next to Langelinies, the fountain is beautiful in the summer with the rolling fountain waters encompassing Gefjun. The legendary Norse goddess, Gefjun, is depicted as she leads her team of giant oxen to... More

Not a lot more to add, it looks like it would look spectacular, but without water its hard to get enthused.

The Gefion Fountain is situated close to the harbour waterfront of Copenhagen, just a few metres from Sankt Albans Church, reviewed separately by me. The fountain is remarkable for its sheer size. Completed in 1908, and later extensively renovated in the first four years of the 21C, it was donated to the city by the Carlsberg brewery to commemorate its... More

Another great spot to visit next to Kastellet, and St Alban's Church. In winter is off but in the summer months is very beautiful. All the Tour buses stop there so make sure to visit it in the mornings.

This is a great fountain, unfortunately not running while I was there. But the whole area is really nice to walk around if you have the time

After/Before being disappointed by the "mighty" Little Mermaid, you should stick around and walk in the area as it offers some nice and relaxing surroundings/attractions (Kastellet, Kastelkirken, St Alban church, Langeline, etc). One of the attraction is the Gefion fountain, that locals and tourists use as a wishing well (especially if you are trying to conceive a child or if... More

I walked to the Little Mermaid statue, which I recommend, because walking near the water on the way there, and you can pass by the Royal Danish Play Hose, the Opera, Amaliehaven. Also, near to the Little Mermaid is Gefion Fountain, I was pleasantly surprised. It is big, loud and magnificent.

Wasn't on when I was there but looked like a massive fountain that I could only imagine is glorious when on, if there in the summer stop to see it.
