The Carlsberg visitor centre is just 10-15 minutes' walk from the Cph central station and provides a beautiful allround story of the history of beer based in the historical 19th century buildings that were once the brewery. You go around for yourself sensing the atmosphere, smell and sounds of a brewery of the early industrial age ending up in the... more
My partner and I almost skipped this because it was a little out of the way and everything is opened such limited hours in Copenhagen...should we find time to squeeze this in? We were very glad we did, it was nicely done. Between the two of us, we've tour many wineries, distilleries, breweries, and we both felt this was at... more
Given the size and importance of the Carlsberg brand, I was expecting to be impressed. The reality is somewhat different. The visitors' centre is on a now derelict factory site, some way outside Copenhagen city centre. There are no guides, no interaction and frankly no explanation of the brewing process; just an extravagance of corporate huff and puff. I don't... more
We visited the Brewery at Easter Time 2008 and were really disappointed. there's no life in the tour, no Tour Guide, all the information has to be read, its basically a museum. No staff to speak to, no feeling of experiencing a Brewery, dull. I would not recommend it, waste of time. The building was lovely and the Bottle Collection amazing.... more
Reasonable priced entry which also includes two tokens for beer at the end of the tour. The tour is full of interesting information and facts about the history of one of the worlds best beers. I've always wanted to visit the factory and was not let down by any aspect of my visit Would recommend it to anyone! more
I thought that this brewery tour was well worth the money. The tour is well thought out, informative and a lot of fun. There are many interesting aspects of the tour including seeing the horses in the stables, old beer wagons and trucks, etc. The gift shop has trinkets of all descriptions. The highlight of the tour as would be appropriate is... more
A very organised history of Carlsberg (which is interesting), a small section on the brewing process, the current factory and two free beers at the end from a range of about 50 - not pints or litres though, a small glass. Excellent for the 40kr entrance fee and the most enjoyable part of my stay in Copenhagen, I would visit... more
Having visited the Heineken and Guinness breweries in Amsterdam and Dublin respectively, I believe the Carlsberg Brewery in the best in Europe! And that's nothing to do with the taste, I'm more of a vodka or rum girl myself. Besides the history of the two breweries (Tyborg and Carlsberg), and the free beer at the end - there's actually a... more
I visited The Carlsberg Visitors Centre in Oct 2005 . There was no guide, so you can wander around at your own pace. The Centre is surprisingly in quite a peaceful leafy location considering it is close to the city centre. Its a little more than just a "beer tour" , you get the chance to look around the Sculpture... more
