The "Old scene" as it is called, is a beautiful, old style theatre, very comfortable and with great programme, mainly ballet, throughout the year.

We were lucky enough to have booked tickets for the opening night of the ballet on October 25th. We couldn't believe our luck when we heard Queen Margrethe II was attending that night. Such excitement. We could never have even imagined it would happen. The theatre itself it beautiful and the staff we talked to, were all lovely and very... More

Had the chance to get tickets online to see Don Giovanni and were on the second row...wow...what a treat. Beautiful building with so much history. Will go back to see the Ballet and more performances. A bit disappointing to see people dressed so casual for such a gorgeous place. Specially being in Copenhagen where is "supposed" to be a trendy... More

What an adorable theatre!!! It was a treat to get such great seats, although I was shocked at how small a theatre it is, but that added to the coziness of it. Snooping around the upper floors we found excellent spaces to relax on the intermissions.

If you like classical music go to the opera, tickets can be purchased on line, there is no ticket office which would have been helpful, they have a on line station that dispenses tickets, which can be paid by credit card but it is cumbersome to use and you can't look at there the seats are, We saw Don Juan... Don Giovanni by Mozart is one of the best operas we have ever heard. If there is an opera or a ballet at one of the houses of The Royal Theatre don't miss it. The Old Scene is a house with traditions from the 18th century, you can allmost feel it.

This is a lovely looking building, but alas, there were no tours available while we were in Copenhagen, so we only managed to admire the building from the outside. Still, worth a visit. Perhaps next time... .

Beautiful inside and was able to book ticket online. The ticket was all in Danish and was difficult to understand seat number. There were no ushers to help me out and I struggled to finally find my seat. I saw the royal Danish ballet and that was beautiful.
