The canals in Christianshavn are the signature of this new area. This area is also easy to reach, within metro range (only about 2-3 minutes from Nørreport or 1-2 minutes from Kongens Nytorv), and have several local shops and cafes/restaurants. Its appearance, in some ways are beautiful (especially in the sunset). If you are using bike, this area is perfect... More

Christianshavn is the new trendy area of Copenhagen. Just a 15 minute Muni ride from the airport (ticket to zone 3 for 36 Kronen), it couldn't be easier to get to it. Within Christianshavn are great breakfast joints, world class restaurants, cheap food trucks (on Paper Island), and so much architecture. Everyone here seems to be in their 20s and... More

Laid out in 1617 by King Christian the Fourth this part of Copenhagen has not had Big fires, so it stands with some of the Oldest houses in the town. Walk Along Strandgade an look into the old backyards, some of which contain fine gardens-for example in Numbers 20-22. See Christianskirken, which used to be a Church for Germans until... More

As per other reviews on here, we failed to find the charm in this part of CPH. Nothing particularly grabs you about it or seems to generate a nice atmosphere, it is just an area. Worth visiting to see the Saviour's Church, but do not go out of your way to come here.

Another iconic part of Copenhagen. Multi-colored canal side homes. Clean, safe, and great for (quiet) tourists and families. Several wonderful restaurants which I will separately review and quaint shops.

Completely missed the draw of this place. Felt none of the atmosphere and charm that other reviewers are talking about. Guess we just couldn't appreciate it. The place generally felt dirty and slightly unsavoury.

Even if you are not planning on eating here, this is a must see. Great restaurants and wonderful atmosphere. We had fish & chips. I believe it was reasonably priced.

Christianshavn is a lovely area located south of the harbour in Copenhagen. There is an Amsterdam-feel to it, mainly thanks to the canals, boats and colourful waterfront houses. Very pretty and recommended for a stroll on a sunny day! And you can always stop in one of the many cafes in the area for a lunch with a view.
