The whole neighborhood is only average, but go to Pusher street, has a super hippy/squatter feeling (but totally safe, there are families everywhere) Guys have bags of marijuana and are very friendly will let you look/smell/buy. Fun to do. Very nice graffiti around and definitely just a cool feeling. Definitely walk through it if you are around it.

The Christianshavn quarter is beautifully quaint with flower decorated houseboats and apartments overlooking the canal. During our canal ride there were sections in the area where no commentary was allowed because of complaints by the residents, but this did not impact our enjoyment of the trip at all. It was interesting to view the elaborate spire of the Church of... More

At any given moment, you can be see the youthful revolt of the university students or the traditional architecture of an older Denmark. Lovely and serene, Christianshavn is definitely becoming more popular.

This is certainly one of the historic sites you might want to visit in Copenhagen but if you are short of time it's one to miss. Likewise Christiana

We stayed in Christianshavn and 'commuted' (it's one short stop on the metro) into the city centre. It was perfect for that. It's away from the tourist bustle, but only minutes from everywhere - and the metro is a cinch to use and relatively inexpensive (considering the cost of everything else in this town). There are numerous cafes, restaurants and... More

We walked across town to visit Christianshavn and arrived about 11:30 in the morning. Nobody was up. You can't take photos because they don't want to be recorded using drugs. There is some charm to the place, but I would rather spend my time in a museum or just walking around Copenhagen. I would not eat there, as it didn't... More

If you visit Copenhagen, take the tour bus which includes a trip on the canal. If like me you enjoy City breaks of 2 or 3 days the tour bus is ideal, it gives you 2 days and 2 routes, takes all the leg work out.
