This was my second visit to this museum and it is just a wonderful museum. It has an excellent prehistory exhibit and then varying temporary exhibits. The prehistory exhibit is such a great introduction to Danish prehistory and full of great displays of bog people/prehistoric graves, and archaeological finds throughout history. One of my favorite displays is old musical instruments... More

The National Museum of Denmark throughly tells the story of Denmark. Through pre-history, through the viking ages, to contemporary times. If you want to learn about the Danish story, and if you're in Copenhagen at all, this is the place to go. Especially since its free.

The best part of this museum was the Prehistoric Denmark section which really has material you really can't see anywhere in the world - great amber collections, and other artefacts, with good explanations. The more recent collections are good, but less of a standout. I could have used more time!

This is a very interesting museum, full of things to see, all very well documented. The Vikings section is not as big as you expect but still interesting. The Egyptian section is not extraordinary and with few things to see. The danish section is extremely nice and well documented. Surely a place to visit

The exposition about the Denmark history is very nicely organized and educative. Really enjoyed. There is also a children museum that the small ones are going to love. The best of all is that everything is free!

A great way to spend a rainy afternoon. The exhibits are well presented and documented. If you are into anthropology the bog bodies are fascinating.

Free entrance and a fantastic opportunity to see Danish and European art. We loved the post 1900 works of art and some truly magnificent modern art. Cafeteria did not have a good selection of food. Well worth a visit.

I only got to have a look at the first floor before closing time at 4.30 PM. But it for sure made a stunning impression. So many othe the worlds must see items are in this museum. I really had a great time. Less impressive was the food in the cafeteria. But you cant have everything perfect right? The museum... More
