Excellent - I'm so glad I visited, I learned lots about Denmark as a country and its people. (1600-2000 exhibition) The Europa exhibition was also enlightening and captivating Very helpful that the descriptions of artefacts etc were also in English- I was very grateful for that. More

I would only go to this if you had interest in anthropology or cultural type of matters. There are some beautiful collections on native people of the sub arctic and tropical areas of the world. The collections are small but they are quite complete in what they include. You will see everything from paintings to native artifacts such as traditional... More

We had a great time here and had an excellent lunch as well (pity I can't write a review for the cafe but really interesting Danish food and as my husband states - the best sausage in Europe). There was a great children's section with lots of interactive displays. The children also liked seeing the mummified remains of Danes (fascinating... More

The exhibits were interesting, if not extraordinary. The temporary Europe in the Modern World exhibit was a little dizzying and hard to navigate, but it's hard to complain about a free museum. More

The exhibits were arranged by by stylistic peroids. everything had Englidh informations. We learned so much about how art styles developed. My husband was very taken by the taintings of J.C.Dahl and I liked seeing the French art of the 19th and 20th century. More

Would agree the layout of the departments was a little confusing, not helped by the restrictions of being housed in an historic building. The actual exhibits were of a very high quality, and cultural significance, and unusually for Denmark the interpretation was also in well translated English. The physical arrangement, signage, and display cabinets, were rather dated, from the 1980's... More

Admittedly we visited this museum late in the day, but we could not figure out the map and layouts to get to the exhibits we wanted to see. Instead we ended up wandering through an exhibit depiciting life in Denmark through the last century, which was interesting, but not what we were trying to locate. All in all, we found... More

A must if you want to see Danish and Scandinavain art beautifully presented in a small, national gallery. Where else can you see the art of small countries? Free admission except for special exhibitions (the current one on Danish artist and his European contemporaries was one of our trip highlights). More
