The Nationalmusset is an excellent place for an English speaking person to learn about Danish history and culture. It is housed in a lovely building two blocks from Tivoli. There are multiple collections to enjoy. I was particularly interested in the Stories of Denmark 1660-2000 which gave me a broader perspective on the modern history of Denmark. We just went to the National Museum. We went on a Wednesday, so it was free. We were awed by the extensive collections of so many eras. When my two boys (ages 4 and 5) had seen all they could handle, we took them to the children's museum in the basement, where they had a BLAST! The dressed up like... more

If you love museums then don't miss this one! It is one of the best laid out history museums I have ever been to and I am a museum addict. The collection is extensive but not overwhelming and the informative signs (written in English among other languages) are actually interesting to read. The stone tool and viking exhibits as well... more
