We visited the National Museum on two separate occasions. On the first visit we spent 1 1/2 hours and only saw part of the 'Pre-history' section. This was well set out with an extensive collection artifacts and interesting information. We returned at 3:30pm the next day to spend an hour and a half in 'The Viking' display. From 4pm there... There's a lot of stuff in this museum. The pre-history section was very interesting, but the rest was dry. As it's free, it's worth a visit just to see the first floor.

Fantastic and free! Amazing amount of artifacts from flint axes to oak burial coffins and remains. Really well put together and informative.

Similar to the Smithsonian Museum in Washington DC USA the National Museum has a wide variety of items to view. Since it is a national museum it is free to visit.

This is free to the public and well worth the stop. It takes you through their entire history and has some amazing artifacts. Extremely well preserved. You need a minimum of four hours but you probably won't see everything in that time even if you rushed through it. They also have visiting displays. It is a great stop.

This is an interesting break from the shopping and entertainment districts. We enjoyed seeing the history all the way from ancient inhabitants to the present.

Well informed staff who answered some v odd questions to do with the British GSCE syllabus and obviously know their exhibits. Lots of odd corners to explore and keep a family of all ages amused

Free entry, 50 DKRoner for an English language short tour. The National Museum has a wonderful ancient and middle ages historical perspective on Denmark, which I found wonderful. As with most of Copenhagen, the foyer is poorly air conditioned and stiflingly hot in the summer, but the exhibit areas are climate controlled. The exhibits take you from prehistoric Denmark to... This museum had an interesting exhibit about the history of toys that I really enjoyed. But besides that, I just thought it was okay. It's a free museum though so if you're on a budget it's worth it.

Love going around musuems in different countries to see what they prioritise. This one was packed full of interesting items from Denmark and around. Loved the Navajo exhibition. One complaint. The museum opens at 10, the cafe opens at 11.30. A missed opportunity as by 10, after walking through Copenhagen to get there, often the first thing you want is... More
