Colorful buildings line the canal and hint at a history of small-vessel traffic. Like many ports, this strip has a salty history, rich with sailors, drinking and literary exploits. Danish author Hans Christian Andersen made his home in Nyhavn as well. It's cleaned up now and is a lovely place for a stroll. « less

Copenhagen is a smooth and easy-going City but the crowds gather at NyHaven. It is still nice, but wandering away can also be a good choice. More

A lot of small cafés, restaurants and bars - all with outdoor seating right next to the beautiful little old port. When you enjoy the sun, the atmosphere you can watch everybody that passes by !!! More

Definitely my favourite. Extremely vibrant (and touristy). Visited once two years ago and I liked it so much that I came back for a second time. Please do go for the canal tour. Definitely worth the time (1hour) and money (DKK70) to see the essence of Copenhagen. 50% off with CPH card - even better!! More

It is a very scenic area, very lovely to see and stroll around. Many little bistros and cafes and pubs. However, there were a lot of large groups heavily drinking around lunchtime (I am not saying that is not fun, but just to let you know:) My Copenhagen boat tours leave from there. For a Nordic country, rather cheap: 40... More

I post this review just hours after got back from Nyhavn. I have relatives who live here and they took us all around and was such a great time we had. We toured Nyhavn and other local restaurants that served great foods in the Great Brothers Square. We drank beers, had gyros, Danish hotdog, shop, boat tour, eat (again), then... More
