Take a trip to Arken in Ishøj. Enjoy the art . Go to their excellent cafe. And take a walk in the wonderfull surroundings.. Look at the internet site to find out which artist are on the program. After the visit go to the nearby town Koege.

There are art works from international as well danish artist. a visit that will take you 1 or 2 hours. beautiful museum shop at the entrance. unfortunately the museum is located outside of the city centre of Copenhagen, took me about 45 minutes to get... Arken is relatively easy of access from Copenhagen main station on the S line to Ishoj. At Ishoj there is the choice of taking a short taxi drive (my choice in winter), walking or waiting for a local bus (about one per hour). We fell foul of bus timings on the return journey and found the route marking on the... More

We were there to see the Hundertwasser exhibition and it was beautifully set up. Location is good even if you use public transport.

This modern - ultra modern! - museum of contemporary art, built in the Ishhoj suburb of Copenhagen close to the seashore, looks from the outside like some kind of futuristic ocean liner, and holds within a host of striking and memorable exhibits. It has works by Scandinavian and other internationally recognised artists, including Damien Hirst, but for me its most... More

We went having tried Louisiana but this is for hardened modern art lovers - we genuinely didn't get some of it - some of it was quite upsetting too but I guess this is what it's meant to do. It's a great building but it's quite expensive so again go if you're a fan not if you're passing by.

The Arken is a fabulous place to visit, followed by a short walk to the beach and/or lake on a sunny day. It's a little bit complicated to get there from Copenhagen central but we managed just fine. The Hundertwasser exhibition was a highlight of our entire visit to Copenhagen. A gorgeous space and fabulous art. We really enjoyed our... More

We went to Arken to see the Hundertwasser exhibition. Although the museum looked kind of hard to reach from central Copenhagen, it wasn't that bad – we took the S-Tog to Ishøj and catched the bus, very convenient. Arriving at the museum, we were stunned by the fantastic modern architecture, looking like some kind of strange, white ship stranded on the... More

I am not sure that it is true but so far it has always been sunny when I have visisted Arken! As it is right on the beach this is certainly an advantage! The building is very intresting - and very modern. (It is a bit embarrasingly, but I am so fond of the toilets with their "raw2 design!) I... More
