Explore the houses of the old town and visit the old shops, all furnished and decorated with original interior. Take your time to get all around the town. I recommend to go early and experience the town "waking up" (without too many other visitors).

Had a good time going round this open-air musuem, very interesting and very well kept. Ideal for children to see.
There's a lot of old houses. In some of them actors talk to you as if you're from the actual timeperiode. A lot is from before turn of the century; but what I like the most is the area they're developing at the moment: the 1974-area. Bring your own food and drink or buy in the cafes. Expect to spend...

The recreational feeling of this place is great but that's what it is,recreated, there is no 'reality' about it. I disagree with the reviewer about how the prices being reasonably priced compared to the U.K,it was quite expensive and compared to similar U.K attractions, like the Beamish museum was not as interesting, but this is Denmark I suppose. Not a bad day out...

This place is just amazing. It takes you straight to the time of H. C. Andersen; back in 1800's. Lots of comedians/guides are in costume to give you a perfect picture on how was the life in Aarhus at this period. It is a an easy walking distance from the port (or from the city center, even closer). it worth the...

It's always been great feeling when I came here. Here comes the nature, the ancient Danish houses and scenes. The fun part that you can see how the ancient village of Denmark operate, there is also the guy dressing and selling in the candy shop since 1800s. The time I went was not at the festival time so it was...

Unexpected treat given its central city location. Could have done with the cafe being open and less other building work going on but it is early season
In a nice day, it is a must in AArhus: you will see houses and shops from different historical periods, in many of them you can go in and understand daily life. Have something to drink and eat as there are no places where to buy food and drinks.
It is a small city make as normal cities used to be and function in old years in Denmark... Some of the parts look and reflects the lifestyle as it was in 1500's and some others are a minimalistic reflection of 1950....
Overall a great experience regardless of the season you visit the place... Very nice in summer and cosy...
