Danes have been a seagoing people since the age of the vikings and the museum captures a great deal of this history in models, displays, uniforms, weaponry and interactive exhibitions. The outdoor part features a complete submarine and a torpedo boat (both on land) along with operating (though not firing) guns and other stuff that will enchant any boy from... More

Clearly for the kids the "Springeren" submarine is the highlight as well as the ship simulator. But there are a lot more things to see and I had the chance to explain a lot of technical and historical details to the kids. E.g. A pulley in different sizes: try to pull up 20 kilograms withe a single rope or a... More

Enjoyed the museum very much, first time in a submarine, the indoor exhibits are all well displayed, spent most of the morning there, and then a nice walk back into town.

We visited mid-week and were surprised to be the only visitors. The museum does a great job of showing guests what the ship-building industry was like in Aalborg. The outdoor exhibits were great--to include the submarine. Would recommend it to any visitor to Aalborg.

Lots of modelships and things to try. They have an old sub and a superfast topedoboat pulled ashore which the kids thought was cool to climb.
