The church of King Canute (Sankt Knud) is situated in the middle of Odense, right next to the town hall. The church itself is quite impressive but I'd say that the gardens (Eventyrhaven) just behind it is even more impressive. A perfect place to enjoy a picnic, go for a stroll, sunbathe, etc.

I've see a lot of churches, so maybe I'm a little tired of churches, but I can still appreciate their beauty. Every church really is unique, and this one is no different. I went on a very slow day, so I had the whole church to myself. It was a truly calming experience and I definitely enjoyed it.

We visited this church and the area on a dull day. The building is imposing and located close to the Raadhus.

As we were traveling with a small child, we visited primarily for the skeleton, and secondarily for the architecture. It did not disappoint!

Really worth a visit. Great and breathtaking church in the middel of Odense. Although not a christian, I really like churches as many are arcithectonian masterpieces.

Its free to see the church and it does hold some interesting pieces. An example is the altar piece by Claus Berg which is considered a master pieces among the art works on display in Odense. You can also enter the crypt to see the remains of a danish king, burial linen woven in Constantinopel almost a 1000 years ago... More
