We found this beach by chance when we went exploring on the quad bike, and have returned many times! A couple of years ago you could hardly hear the planes, even though they were just behind. As they have now extended the runway this has changed, but it's not a bad thing! Lying on the beautiful beach, look up and... More

Nice clean beach, small taverna, two sunbeds with parasol 8 euros for the full day. Music can be a little bit loud, but some people like it others don't. it's difficult to please everyone. On the whole though it was peaceful and quiet the three times we were there.

Pebbly beach, not very pretty but great fun to anticipate planes flying over you (The runway ends at the beach!)

Pebbly and sand beach that is a bit more choppy than most so good for our older boys. Clean clear gorgeous water. If you like plane spotting or even if you just like a bit of an adrenalin rush then you need to come here! The planes fly out over this beach a few times a day and they are... More

Situated just 4 kilometres north of SKIATHOS town, it's a hop, skip and a jump from Skiathos airport. Xanemos beach offers a beach bar, clear water and last but not least a plane spotters paradise with planes taking off and landing overhead, with the surrounding mountains a great spot of photos of those metal tubes landing on runway 20.. Whether... More

We loved this beach. By far our favourite on Skiathos. It is near the end of the runway so you can see the planes taking off. It is used by locals more than by tourists so we preferred it to those full of fellow Brits. Only snacks are served, and even those are not always available. There is a clean... More

Whoever owns the beach bar here is determined to make it solely for 18-30 by playing loud clubbing music but the reality is most people come here to watch planes take off over their heads as it is right at the end of the runway! Its not a clean, sandy or particularly attractive beach. We couldn't sit on a lounger... More

Having been at the other end of the runway (brilliant) we thought we'd visit the other end. We had to walk there and back which was a bit of a trek. Good to watch the planes take off. Not a brilliant beach but there was a basic snack bar run by a very dour Jack Nicholson look alike who played... More

Beach could be cleaner, but nevertheless its nice especially with watching planes going over your head. Beach bar...well its close to disaster, i ordered pork souvlaki (me coming from capital of barbecue :- ) which was insult for all 'meat lovers'.... so stick with drinks only. Overall good to visit.
