I just visited that place yesterday. It is a magnificent place-the oldest winery in Greece with its best wine! It seems that the time there has stopped centuries ago and it keeps all its charm and history! I am inlove with the atmosphere and the great taste of wines! The girl who took us for the free tour around and... More

If you are catching the ferry from Patras (recommended if heading to Kefallonia) then a visit to this fantastic winery has to be on your itinerary. Book an overnight stay at Galaxy City Center Hotel located in the heart of Patras and virtually across the road from the ferry port. The local shops (particularly for the girls) and eateries are... The place offers wine tasting and a very well structured tour! The winery stores some of the oldest preserved wines dedicated to very famous people.

Great place. Lots of history, interesting stories and good wine to buy at very good prices. A "must visit" winery, very close to the city and with spectacular view. Highly recommended.

Quiet place with wonderful buildings. The winery storage with the old wines since 1880's, is a place you should visit! Tasteful wine, everyone should buy some bottles of Mavrodapne in very good prices!

In the cool, overlook hills of Patras, Achaia Clauss Winery founded by the Bavarian Gustav Clauss reflects the modest luxury of days gone by. Lovingly designed for his visitors and workers, the site boasts the oldest winery of Greece with its crenelated towers and arced passages, the visitor is transported to another world of faeries and knights... now, about the... Ok, the wine is decent and extremely well priced. They have a port type wine that is ok but the 35 year old version is fantastic. But, oh my, the place itself is amazing. The Imperial Room is worth the drive itself. I have toured a lot of wineries and this one stands as one of the very few truly... More
