It is definitely a worth visiting Museum for its architecture and the way artifacts are displayed in context. Roman mosaics are fantastic, small artifacts as well. Do go, you get a nice look on what everyday life in ancient Achaia was!

I had to wake up quite early to visit the museum and was also the only person for most of my stay. I loved it truly and was amazed by the beautiful building and its modern architecture. Modern and ancient working together in harmony. It was worth missing the morning coffee with my partner.

Museums are brain food. What's inisde them makes you think about who you are and how you got there. The way the exhibits are arranged here is brilliant. There is a sense of space andlight inside and the way the dates of each historical find are laid out actually takes you through a swath of history. It could really do... More

This museum is worth seeking out - even though I'd lived in Patras for a year it was a revelation. It is imaginatively curated, beautifully arranged and lit, and with very good information available in Greek and excellent English [something of a rarity!]. The mosaics are particularly stunning and have been beautifully conserved.

I did enjoy this place. It is well laid out, beautifully curated, and there are many good objects on display. However, you are not allowed to take photos of any objects, and you also cannot purchase a catalogue as one such does not exist. So you can't bring anything with you. As an archaeology student, that was most disappointing -... More

We visited the New Archaeological Museum of Patras in October 2013. Pros: An amazing display of all kind of artifacts, from the prehistory till the Roman times. The mosaics are specially impressive - I've never seen such a brilliant collection anywhere. There are lots of panels with huge amounts of interesting information. Also, a bonus point for all architecture lovers:... More

Finally Patras has the archeological museum it deserves. The building is modern and with great architecture. The artifacts inside are fantastic coming from Patras and the surrounding area. A real highlight are the mosaics. A definite place to visit when in Patras.

The exhibits are displayed in a spacious modern building which itself is of architectural interest. Extensive information is provided in Greek and English. Of particular note are the large number of Roman mosaics where the first floor walk-way is especially useful for a better view. The authorities have obviously gone to a lot of trouble to present the exhibits in... More
