The place is a unique meeting point to have coffee and enjoy the sunshine. Be careful as there scores of all sorts of origins beggars and street vendors.

I found it great for a walk, especially down to the sea. But the better (and cheaper) restaurants are not in this area. Sitesee with the tourists. But eat further up the hill.

It seems that this beautiful Square is the centre of Thessaloniki social life. It’s surrounded by beautiful and well-kept buildings with a classic/neo classic touch. Usually full of chic and beautiful people, the Thessaloniki youth revolves also around here.

there is no escaping this square when you are visiting Thessaloniki. It is perfectly located, huge and busy teeming with life. You have to go and have a coffee and/or buy sweets or bougatsa otherwise it is like going to Rome and not seeing the Vatican.
