Nice place to enjoy the city's view! Also a really nice church in the inside. What I really liked in this church, is that the priests had short beards and looked somewhat different from priests in other orthodox churches.

This is a historical monastery , but it is also situated in a great position with full view of the city. The yard is nice, too.

Walk up from the city centre through the narrow alleys of the Ano Poli (Old Town) to the ring road that follows the ancient city wall. Won't take you nearly as long as you think. This monastery has an amazing little church with very ancient frescos and screens. Domed ceilings black with centuries of smoke (from incense?). Notice the chips... More

This place is an easy walk from the Byzantine Walls - Trigoniou Tower. The church is in the middle of the property and if you look from the balcony, you can see a panoramic view of the city. Quiet place to sit, rest and reflect away from the crowds.

This is an ancient place. I could only get access to the church. It is worth a visit. Not many mosaics remain inside which is a terrible shame. I was very impressed with the peacocks outside. I should say that there would be more than 20! Such beautiful creatures! I found getting to this place to be confusing. Make sure... More

Went on a Sunday morning with family - son aged 6. It is a very old church, almost ancient, that was founded by St. Paul in 54A.C. The view to the city is amazing, the garden has a quite large area with peacocks and two other small ones with chicken, pigeons and pheasants. The only faulty point is that there... More

This is definitely a must see attraction in Thessaloniki. The monastery is located in the area of the old castle and offers an awesome view all over the town!

The church in the middle is beautiful and on the right side corner of the apse is a place where St Paul preached and wrote his letters. A quiet place to relax after our long walk. Thessaloniki is a good walking city as landmarks connects from one end to the other. We enjoy navigating through narrow streets with stairwells. This... More
