On the harbour of lovely Thessaloniki (with its layers of Ancient Greek, Jewish, Roman, Byzantine, and Ottoman culture & history) is the iconic White Tower. The winding stairs up are an easy climb. The steps are very wide. On each level, the interior is set out with exhibits from the past - artefacts from antiquity to WW2. Very well curated.... More

For 3€ each including audio guide husband and I gained understanding of stylish Greek city. We enjoyed beautiful views walking along the seaside promenade. It's an iconic destination, a good start for an American retired couple unfamiliar with the region.

While visiting Thessaloniki, we were not able to spend a lot of time in town due to our travels. However, a trip to the White Tower was an absolute must! We did not go to the top but the view of the tower itself was stunning. It is amazing that it has stood guard there all this time. What a... More

Very interesting exhibition of the history of Thessaloniki. In every one of the six floors a different aspect like buildings, population, music, even food, from ancient to modern times. Not difficult to go up, panoramic view from top, especially in spring with sunshine. 3-2 euros. Nice place with grass near the sea to sit, ride a bike or have a... More

This is like the Eiffel Tower in Paris and the Parthenon in Athens. It is the symbol of the city and an absolute must visit. You will not be able to miss it anyway since it is in a very central part of the city.

Last time we have visited Thessaloniki The Tower was closed. But this time we were lucky. Ticket is 3 EUR and you can get free audio guide which is easy to use. Whole area is specific gallery space. Going from one to another room, listening and watching stories from the history you easily loose the sense of time. At the... More

Must go place in Saloniki. We climbed through the 5 level stairs of tower. At each level there is a part of museum, giving brief info for the city hitory. After 5th floor, you are on the top terrace where you can see the city and seaside panorama. Enterance fee was 3 Euro/person.

Been here on a family vacation with children at the age of 10 and 12 (when the mind is so curious!). Yes, the tower is a very impressive monument from the outside, but there is no reason to go in with children. The exhibition is very old fashioned, not interactive, not attractive, you go and listen with your audiobook guide..... More

Any pictures you see of Thessaloniki it has White Tower in it and its very prominent when you're walking along the sea. Its a great symbol of the bustling city (second highest population after Athens) and gives a classic vibe of old school and metropolitan. Its 3 Euros with a free audio guide but unfortunately both of the audio guides... More
