The white tower is exactly next to the sea, and it's has a height of almost 34 meters. Of course you must visit but in my opinion there is no need to pay a ticket (even if 4 Euros is a reasonable price) to get in, but if you do so make sure you have your camera with you because... More

Its an five centuries old tower, must have been of military importance. Their is a museum inside, all in Greek, which will make you remember all your physics and mathematics symbols ;) The spiral staircase take one on top where views are nice. Even if you do not intend to climb, stroll around there are lots of street vendors and... More

An interesting monument to visit, and a great view from the top. Although the explanation boards outside are in Greek and English, the photos and displays on the various floors were in Greek only. Pity

This is the first time I have been in a 500 yr old tower that is a museum! I learned about the history of Thessaloniki with very creative display. I love how they utilized the different side alcoves for smaller displays. The top of the tower has fantastic views of the city and was a great reward for finally getting... More

Inside the White Tower is really great and interesting museum.. It's divided into different parts.. Unfortunately everything is in Greek, so if you don't know Greek language, you cannot read it. If you know Greek, it's worth to read it and enjoy the visit. Definitely go upstairs because there is amazing view to the city.. You can see everything from... More

Enjoyed walking to and up the interior circular walkway, learning about the history. The displays were creative and informative. I don't think children or teenagers would be interested unless history was their forte. The plaza area is beautiful and treat to walk at night. Felt very safe even late at night.

Positive: - The audioguides are available in several languages - nice view over Thessaloniki harbour - interesting insights in Thessaloniki City history Negative: - descriptions of exhibits are only in Greek language - There could be more information about the tower itself

A symbol of the city, the tower is located in the centre of the Thessaloniki seafront. A great place to enjoy the sunset, or, if you are an early bird, sunrise. Also there is a small park at the base of the tower where you can sit back and relax. The tower used to be a prison during the Ottoman... More

The tower is situated near the seafront, and the place is extremely crowded with people walking, or biking, or sitting on the grass near the tower. Nice place for a long walk at sunset.
