The museum is very informative, you'll learn definitely a lot about Byzantine Empire. However, probably because the empire and the things that remained from the empire is spread in different cities, I can't say that everything displayed is that interesting. Worth a fast visit but no longer.

Well worth a visit. Full of the most amazing things. Beautifully displayed and well documented exhibits. Lots of staff around if you need to ask questions. Very nice cafe in the grounds as well.

It was a great museum to help understand some of what we saw when we visited other Greek sites. We very much appreciated the museum. A little surprised how much of the original pieces were so available to see with out glass cases and more protection. They have security, but they are very trusting that visitors will respect the historical... More

This museum is great and greatly accessible for wheel chairs as well. It presents archeological findings, artefacts, church treasures, and a lot of other elements of Byzantine life. What maybe impresses most are the decorated tombs. The sophisticated architecture allows for a stroll through the ages that becomes a real discovery of an important period of Christian history.

The building is very nice, to see as Architecture But for this kind of Museum as I visited it I was disapointed beause all what you see has to do with big posters , graves, big Christian Croses and Icons of the Holy Family. Only the first hall a interesting theme of how it was in Thessaloniki . But you... More

A highly informative tour with colleagues. Succinctly summarised a regions rich history in an accessible and enjoyable way. The guide provided a balance of allowing us to interact individually while also guiding us through highlights. Pleasant courtyard for coffee at end of learning experience.

A big and very interesting collection of byzantine jewellery , pottery and mosaics I 've visited it many times . Is the museum I love to go and have a look again and again to it 's belongings. It has, also, a very classy restaurant with a beautiful garden and really very good food.

This award winning museum is a gem on its own. Even if you are not interested in its exhibits, you will love the ambience, the moody halls and corridors and the way the light invades the building. Never mind the White Tower, this sight is not to miss.
