This is one of the museums that doesn't really do anything but display artefacts. What's wrong with that? A good historic and especially cultural museum makes its visitors re-imagine and re-experience the period or nation it covers. This museum doesn't even try to do that. And the artefacts are mostly from two spheres: church and daily life - and there... More

This is one of those museums that the building and presentation compete with the actual exhibits in excellence. The museum building is justly considered to be the most important work of modern architecture work in Greece. The exhibits are amply contextualized and explained but not in a tiresome way for the average interested visitor. The focus is mostly on objects... More

World class museum. Informative, spacious and high quality exhibits. You can get a ticket for a bit extra that also lets you into the excellent Archaeological Museum which is close by.

Being a fairly new museum it deals with the Byzantine Culture and History very well, display rooms are spacious, exhibits are documented in Greek and English. It is situated behind The Archaeological Museum which we visited first, then having a light lunch at the aforementioned we proceeded to the Museum of Byzantine Culture, making for a very informative day

The museum of byzantine culture is a relatively new museum. The architecture is nice and it is very spacious with large exhibition rooms. It gives a broad overview of life and culture in the old Byzantine empire. There are a lot of artifacts and many precious icons to watch. Perhaps it would have been good with an exhibition room that... More

It is always interesting to see such an impressive display of Byzantine culture through centuries and especially in such a contemporary setting. Museum is excellently organized and literally lets you walk through the history. For the visitors from the western world, it is interesting and for some possibly even surprising to see that while the Western Europe was in the... More
