Really enjoyed finding this little gem and it's totally free to explore. Has some amazing views down to the sea and looking over Rhodes mountains. Decided after after exploring and taking photos, which didn't take long to have a drink. There a little restaurant next to the car park. Had a amazing Greek salad and the freshest juice I've ever... This little castle we stumbled upon on our route back to Kalithea having visited Embonas. The walk up was via a nice new pathway and once inside the castle the views over towards Symi and Halki are fantastic. Be careful as you look over the walls it's a long drop down. Pretty but scary if you suffer from heights. Nice... More

This castle has all the glory of a medieval castle that one would and should expect, although a ruin.. Do visit it if you are in the vicinity. On occasions the locals organise a medieval festival. GPS Coordinates 36.264114, 27.809044

A very neat castle, up high on the hilltop, with excellent views of the surrounding area. I wish there had been an informational brochure or something, but the fact that it was free to enter was nice. If you're doing the west coast west coast castle tour, this will be the first one that you see along the windy west... More

You don't get to see much of the castle but the views are great. Shame there's not much information there about the place - you need to take your own guidebook. The cafe is brilliant - amazing value, lovely location and spotless loos!

Having a hire car, we thought we would pay another visit to this castle ruins having been many years before, I can now say that it was not such a good idea, the climbing and walking underfoot are not really worth it, although the views from up here are very good. If you have any mobility or walking difficulties then... More

Use the free car park and look at the castle. (Note: two old ladies may try to charge you, but parking and access is free). The castle dominates the landscape and protected the Island from the Saracens and pirates. There is nothing to see inside the castle, and the view is just as good from the car park. Take time... We visited the castle on our recent holiday to Rhodes and were amazed at the fantastic views from the top of the castle, it's a steep climb from the car park on very secure steps but it's worth the effort. Although the castle is a ruin it's still in good condition and with free admission it's well worth the slight... More
