A beautiful medieval city. Loads of windy allies, much of it unspoiled by modernisation. The walls are a monumental achievement- 2 miles around. The architecture in the city mixes Greek, Turkish, Romanesque and Hellenistic influences. It fully merits it's UNESCO world heritage label. Fantastic!

The medieval city of Rhodes is an awesome site to see from the outside. It is a walled city, a fortress which served as a base for the Knights in 1300-1500- the period of the crusades. There are 2 museums within the city. First is the grandmaster museum of the knights which is reconstructed and the second is the archaeological... More

Definitely a place to visit in Rhodes, carry your camera maybe with several lenses and a tripod, you might get fantastic street photographies especially during early morning and late afternoon. Some great places to eat are present, everything quite condensed in a relatively small area.
