What a fascinating, charming, beautiful and unexpected wonder. We were dropped off at the city walls and we approached we were amazed by the aight that unfolded. Wonderful, intact city walls with passages leading into the cobbled streets of ancient and following periods' villas, municipal building and smaller dwellings. Lots of places to eat, relax, socialise and capture great photographic... More

The town was too hot in the day in August so recommend the evening when cooling down a little .Atmosphere with loads of people and little shops was brilliant a big variety of shops as well not just the usual tourist stuff. The choice of restaurants was fantastic and more authentic than our hotel it was also very easy for me... the restoation is still going on, and it is enjoyable to get inside via various doors and then get lost inside the narrow streets which are surrounded by the castle walls.

Built by the Knights of Saint John, these former hospices are beautifully preserved. It is a treat to walk down the cobblestoned streets to the Castle.

It is a very beautiful place. You need to walk a lot in order to see every single point of this amazing monument. Don't forget to visit the palace of great wizard. You can spend many hours in the old city as there are many places for food, drink, relax etc

The Old part of Rhodes town is sadly populated by 'tourist shops' and some not so fine eateries. Be aware that there are beggars who the waiters will not chase from your table while eating outside. This happened on 'parrot' square to us. As with any where the waiters try very hard to get you to sit down before looking... More

The Old Town has to be one of the largest fortresses in Europe, it took us days to thouroughly explore it. Let yourself get lost in the tiny alleyways and check out the lovely houses, as it is much more enjoyable than the big streets crammed with souvenir shops.

The Medieval city in Rhodes Town is a must visit place. What a joy. Wandering around the city on the cobbled streets, bargain hunting in the little shops, having a drink in a small taverna, taking in the history, architecture and atmosphere. We loved it.
