Old city is a photographers paradise, the views and architecture are amazing. There are great places to shop and eat inside and out of tge medieval city, although it does get a little pricey inside. It does take time to experience all parameters of old town so I would recommend spending a whole day in old town as theres alot... More

I spent two long afternoons just walking around. Now, that for me takes a lot of convincing! It is really a beautiful thing to do, the town is very lively and beautiful, even the less frequented parts to the south! If you are in Rhodes, that is where you should go first. Also, most landmarks are in here or close... More

Our visit to the medieval city was a haunting and mysterious experience. It seemed that air wafted through the streets, which summoned the medieval city back to life through the centuries. As we walked around the surprisingly lively town, we could almost hear the hoof beats of the horses and the whispering voices of history. This visit is an absolute... More

There are some charming aspects....if you can avoid the crowds and the miles of tourist shops that seem to occupy every inch of the old town, once you enter the walls. Early in the morning before the mobs descend,or early evening,it's pleasant. You can sit at a taverna and enjoy a coffee....come 10.00 it looks like the re-make of 'Ben Hur'.....thousands of... More

People are always looking further afield for luxury destinations and grand holidays but how can you top this? Rhodes has everything. As you walk through the medieval city you feel as if you have travelled in time, this is a truly unique experience. Plenty of shops selling various items. I bought honey and olive oil, I'm kicking myself as I... More

The weather cooperated for a few hours to allow me to stroll through the fabled Medieval City of Rhodes, which enjoys UNESCO heritage status. I was vurtually the only visitor and was able to meander through the city and around the outter walls to my heart's content. I'd love to return another time when the city's attractions are open.

I visited Rhodes while on a recet cruise. The ship docked only a few yards from the city and there were several entrances to give the visitor access. Maps were being handed out at the Dock entrance. i just wanted to explore the place, with no intention of going into any of the buildings. The streets are quite narrow, with... More

We didn't realise how large the fortified area was. We enjoyed a long walk around the walls and grounds, and in some places, were amazed that there were no other tourists around. Inside the walls, the old town is okay, a little too touristy for us. The shops all sell the same old tat and the restaurants are very generic.... More
