Never seen a volcano before therefore it was amazing experince. It is worth for a Trip to Nisyros Island. Its pitty that the Boats are staying very short in the island. You must see the Volcano. Beware of the steam; gas coming out of the volcano, smells bad at few spots. Because still active.!! Enter your own risk; written before.

We did a day trip which included the volcano, we were really surprised at how interesting the place is. It doesn't look like anything we'd ever been to before, no lava flows, you can walk into the crater, it smells a bit (sulphur) and still feels warm in places! The trek down, and up is not recommended for anyone with... More

Lovely island beautiful views and scenery volcano is amazing, very smelly! Coach took quite sometime to get there. The church at the top in the village is amazing we took some great photos. The weather turned on the way back down the island, the boat set off anyway in a huge storm. The boat was swaying people throwing up everywhere... More

Booked this excursion through Sail Away in the main street of Kardamena. Left around 9am and arrived in Nisyros mid-morning. Coaches waiting to take us to the volcano (entrance fee 2 euro), where you can walk down to the surface and see small 'steam holes' emitting sulfur (yuk). Small cafe selling coffees, soft drinks and snacks. Next stop was the... More

It was my first volcano trip so it was very interesting and fascinating. I was there after a 2-3 hours of rain so the smell was a very interesting mix.

We were lucky in that we were the only coach, being the second last day of the season, so we had the site to ourselves. Great experience, even though I have been to other volcanic sites around the world.

This was one of the highlights of our holiday. Standing in the crater of a volcano was an awesome experience and a live one at that to. If you don't like rotten egg smells this is not the place for you and make sure you have footwear suitable for the walk down, so no flip flops!

I had a boyhood ambition to visit a volcano and this fulfilled it. Although the overall trip cost a few bob (return boat trip, bus to the crater etc.) the EUR2 fee to get in was ridiculously good value. There is not a lot to see in terms of information etc. but what do you need to know when the... More

Absolutely stunning views from the bus up to the crater. The whole experience is out of this world and is a must if you visit the island. Also the main town at the harbour has some lovely sights as well as some lovely restaurants to grab a bite to eat
