So the trip to the Volcano was great. Quite reasonable prices we went straight to the port and got a boat ride with hot springs swim for €20. Boat ride and guide good. Once we got to the Volcano we thought everything was included but there is a hidden price of paying to actually go on the volcano do make... More

Our guide was so interesting and we saw the different volcanic activity which had formed the island. He pointed out a few fumaroles and the heat and gasses escaping was incredible. We also bathed in the hot springs and then to Captain John's for an enjoyable lunch. More

We were on a specifically geological tour and it was just fascinating to look at the various rocks and see evidence for the volcano having exploded not just once, but four times, and to see and begin to understand the various layers of lava, ash, debris and pumice that make up the island. More

Took a boat tour of Santorini which included a stop off at the Volcano. It was a bit of a hike up but by no means difficult and i'm not in the best of shape! Just make sure you take a bottle of water with you and enjoy the amazing views of Santorini islands and the Aegean sea! More

Wear good shoes, long walk from the port to the volcano. Was not a fan of the hot springs, stained swimwear and sulfur smell. More

We booked a boat tour from the old port that took us out to the hot springs and then to the volcano for a hike. I LOVED getting to jump off the boat and swim out to the hot spring! Unfortunately, we only got to spend about 15 minutes in the hot spring area, soaking and rubbing the soft mud... More

So it was even a bit scary - if suddenly one of these sleeping volcanos wake up? :) For the kids it is an amasing experience to see everything that is connected to volcanic activity! You'ii see old craters, fumerols, obsedian stones...The sea water in some places is colored yellow by the iron and it is also hot! The volcano... More

The island of Santorini consists of two main parts, the inhabited, nearly full-circle crescent, and the volcanic remains in its center. While going to stand on the volcanic center island may not be everyone's optimal choice for an exciting experience, I think nearly anyone can appreciate the amazing geographical features of this unique island. Several centuries ago, both islands were... More
