Great 10 km hike between the towns - lots of photo opportunities. Variety of surfaces so wear running or hiking shoes. Trail is hilly.

The hike to oia from fira is 6 miles and took us about 3 hours to walk. It is tough going in spots but well worth the effort. We started at 9:30 and carried a small bottle of water each with was enough although later in the afternoon I would at least double that. Wear good shoes and don't wear... More

This trail is absolutely amazing. You should do it, at least, once in your lifetime. If possible go at the sunrise or at the sunset (more crowded). Nice views over the typical white/blue houses and over the volcano. Take lots of pictures and enjoy a drink/meal in one of those great cafés!

If there's a more beautiful hike anywhere in the world, I haven't found it There are only two things to do in Santorini - this hike and a sailing boat adventure to the caldera. This hike is tough, leave early in the morning if going in warmer months. The hike does go around dramatic cliffs for spectacular views. It does... More

Our hotel located right under the pathway at Imerovigli. The scenery is breath taking along the pathway but not pleasant when there is too much people on it. Tips: Shoe is a must! We were wearing flip flops on the 1st day and we totally regret it. The next day we have our shoes on and it felt so much... More

Took us about 3 hours with our 12 year old, we started about 8:30 from our hotel in Fira but even then it was really hot so you need to take lots of water. Well paved most of the way with only a short piece that has loose gravel and you need to watch your step and a tiny section... More

We woke up early and left Oia on the public bus at 7:30 am to begin out hike early. We began the hike at Imerovigli and then made our way back to Oia. The hike has a few parts that are uphill, but it was worth it. Our advise is to go early morning (or late afternoon), bring a lot... More

From Fira to Imerovigli the path at the edge of the caldera is not really a "hiking" trail, because it's a well paved (albeit uneven and occasionally slippery) walkway that goes alongside buildings (beautiful restaurants/shops/churches/apartments). You're basically walking continuously through the somewhat linked towns of Fira and Imerovigli. I had limited time to do a section of the larger hike... More

Okay, so doing it three times in a week might seem to be overkill but we love walking and what a walk this is!! The views are incredible and for the most part you are on your own. Yep there is a lot of up and down but it's well worth it. Allow 2.5 hours but it could be 3.... More
