Have to admit im not a hiker and prefer any other form of transport when on holiday, but if you come to Santorini then this walk is a must. Firstly ensure you have good walking boots or shoes this is a must, the going is pretty tough in areas, make sure you have a hat, plenty water and sunblock, take... More

The trek between Thira and Oia is only 10km but be prepared for it to take you much longer that a 10km walk normally would! It is quite hilly, the path comes and goes and probably it will be hot! The views are amazing and the walk is fairly interesting as you pass some churches and things to explore along... More

The hike follows the ridge of the caldera. I would recommend starting the hike early at around 7:30am before it gets too hot. However remember to get a bite before starting on the journey as there are no cafés that are open for breakfast before 10:30am along the way. The 3.5 hour hike brings you through the luxury hotels in... More

We got lucky in August, given that it was a nice windy day to cool us down. Bring at least a liter per person for water. Views are amazing and great way to see both sides of the island. One of the highlights of our trip. DO NOT ride the donkeys. It is just plain mean to ride them in... More

If you are doing this in August start early in the morning as it is very hot. Make sure you wear suitable shoes and carry water. It's a moderate walk with incredible views. Took us 2.5 hrs and we stopped regularly for photos. The vista is uninterrupted and spans island to water with interesting volcanic terrain. We walked Fira to... More

Overall there is not much to do in Santorini so if you are bored of sunbathing this is something different. The walk took about 3 and a half hours and we did this in the peak heat (started about 1pm). It is a pretty view along the cliff edge most of the way. You should do this in trainers or... More

The hiking trail was absolutely stunning. The views were to die for. Bring some good walking shoes, a lot of water, sunscreen, maybe a hat. The sun is very bright and there is little shadow along the trail. Any physically fit person should be able to complete the trail, but it is not to be underestimated. If you get tired... More

Managed the hike in 2.5 hours. Not big on hiking but it was definitely worth it once you experience the amazing views. Once we reached Oia we went straight to Amoudi Bay to have lunch, 300 steps down the cliff. Catch a bus at Ia station to get back to Fira.
