Pricey BUT necessary for those who can't do the steps

We opted to ride the tram going up when our cruise ship docked. We were the only ship in so we didn't have much of a wait. On our way back down I opted to ride down because my legs were shot after our hike from Fira to Oia (6 mi) but my husband went down the steps to save... More

Instead of waiting 45 minutes for the tram, we opted for the mule ride up the steps. Hold on tightly, be ready for some swaying and movement from wall on the left to the abyss on the right, however it is all worth it. The mule ride is an adventure you will not forget. A highlight of a very interesting... More

We were exploring Santorini on a very scenic road/path and we decided to take the cable car (Tram) down to the port for around 4 Euros (one Way). It was quite a nice ride with exceptional views. The descent is quite steep and although I do not like heights, the trip was quite enjoyable. The Port is full of tourists... More

The cable car does not rank very high on my list of things to do when in Santorini. The view going down is good - but can also be seen when driving round the island.....it can be a long wait if there are cruise ships visiting the island so ensure you take the cable ride early. The cable car is... More

We walked down the 587 steps and back up the 587 My 69 year old mother did it and enjoyed it. Go it on a cool day. I can only imagine hod hot it would be in summer. It's quite an accomplishment. Not much to do or see in the bottom during the winter season but it was fun none... More

Me and my husband went on the trams twice and although I am terrified of heights I found it to be quite enjoyable and felt safe which I wasn't expecting, we came back up on the mules they are only called donkeys because a lot of nationalities don't know what a mule is I was informed of this by a... We were the only cruise ship in the harbour to start with so were able to use the tram as the donkeys was a no go for us because what we had heard & finally saw. Another cruise ship came in but only a small one & left before we had to be back on board so no wait more... More

We were on the first tender to Santorini. This was a good option to get into Santorini. We had no line and was quickly to the top. When we arrived at the top we were able to watch the donkeys heading to work. It was interesting to watch them head down the steps. We got great pictures. The line for... More

We came on a cruise ship and was given 3 options to get into Santorini, walk, donkey or cable car. The cable car was 30 minutes queuing as they can't cope with cruise ship traffic. We were warned to avoid donkey as you will smell of donkey for days and they tend to scrape against the rocks to find shade... More
