After walking down the stairs and hiking around the vulcano, you might want to travel back by this tram. It saves you an hour of walking through donkey doodoo. Littlebit expensive, but well worth it (5 euro's and it takes 2 minutes to get to the top)

It may be a bit expensive as its about a 2-3 minute ride however if you cant manage the stairs then this is a great choice!! And the views out to the volcano and over the port are just spectacular!! :)

We had some time to spare in Fira one morning, so we decided to take the cable car down to the port. Make sure to hit this when a cruise ship is not in port. If a ship is in, there can be a very long wait, otherwise, you may end up with a whole car to yourself! It was... More

Experince both...the donkey ride up can be a little harrowing..especially if you encounter a "wall" of donkeys coming down...but what an adventure. They even sell you a picture at the end, to remember $5. Cable car ride down was pretty at night, when you look back onto Santorini.

We opted to ride the tram going up when our cruise ship docked. We were the only ship in so we didn't have much of a wait. On our way back down I opted to ride down because my legs were shot after our hike from Fira to Oia (6 mi) but my husband went down the steps to save... More

Instead of waiting 45 minutes for the tram, we opted for the mule ride up the steps. Hold on tightly, be ready for some swaying and movement from wall on the left to the abyss on the right, however it is all worth it. The mule ride is an adventure you will not forget. A highlight of a very interesting... More

We were exploring Santorini on a very scenic road/path and we decided to take the cable car (Tram) down to the port for around 4 Euros (one Way). It was quite a nice ride with exceptional views. The descent is quite steep and although I do not like heights, the trip was quite enjoyable. The Port is full of tourists... More

The cable car does not rank very high on my list of things to do when in Santorini. The view going down is good - but can also be seen when driving round the island.....it can be a long wait if there are cruise ships visiting the island so ensure you take the cable ride early. The cable car is... More

We walked down the 587 steps and back up the 587 My 69 year old mother did it and enjoyed it. Go it on a cool day. I can only imagine hod hot it would be in summer. It's quite an accomplishment. Not much to do or see in the bottom during the winter season but it was fun none... More

Me and my husband went on the trams twice and although I am terrified of heights I found it to be quite enjoyable and felt safe which I wasn't expecting, we came back up on the mules they are only called donkeys because a lot of nationalities don't know what a mule is I was informed of this by a...
