I know I'm in the minority but Greek beaches just don't do it for me I'm afraid. This was a good beach but no way near spectacular in any shape or form. We had the place to ourselves with a family of 3 the only other attendees till later. But still the need to charge for sun beds/umbrellas had the local... More

Drive further from the surfing beach in Santa Maria, and you will arrive in heaven. Mikri (little) Santa Maria beach is my favorite amongst all on the island, with crystal clear water and quiet atmosphere. Usually it is the preference of the locals & families. There is also a scuba diving school at the end of the beach, I made... More

We took the bus to Santa Maria Mikri (the smaller of the two Santa Maria beaches) and were in heaven. The water was warm and clear, and the beach clean and comfortable. They have services at Mikri; we had two lounge chairs, a small table, and an umbrella. A server came around and took our drink and lunch orders. We... More

Santa Maria Beach is long and lazy with plenty of thatched umbrellas and sun loungers for those who prefer some comfort (like us). With water sports and a a few restaurant options there is plenty... Amazing beach. We were at the "small" beach. Waters were crystal clear, with a long walk out in shallow waters which is great for kids. Had a great time on the paddle boats too. Well serviced and very clean. Beautiful!
