this place is very known, its reputation is well established sometimes there is too much people and the access to the sea below the white chapel is not very large, thus many prefer to go away from the stairs (next to a bar sometimes often sometimes not it depends on the season) and stay farer …but the clear and blue... I have been here several times for weddings at the small chapel of Agia Anna above. The waters are fantastic. Clear and clean. Small Sandy beach and nice rocks. Above, is the Monastery of Hozoviotissa and in front The Big Blue, which inspired Luc besson to film the famous movie.

Well, it is a steep way down, and you would find a narrow rocky beach with pebbles and huge rocks laying around. It is beautiful there and the water is fabulously clear with fish swimming around.

This small beach, closed to the Monestery, is know because of the making of the film "Le grand Bleu", with Jean Reno, the small church, was on the film. That's why you find so many french on this island.

The sea has a 'multi-blue' colour combination, the beach is small and secluded and you feel in a natural swimming pool.

Agia Anna is a small but very nice beach further down from the monastry. The water is crystal clear and if you swim out you can see the monastry high up in the hill. Nice view! There is a little taverna close to the beach. There are a few buses to the beach, or you can take a taxi.

This is a big Must-Go! The experience starts with the steep descending road down to the beach (a bit like the road that takes you down to the port in Santorini). The mountains are so high and so imposing that it is overwhelming. The famous local monastery is like a small dot on them, when looked at from the sea.... More

Besson filmed part of The Big Blue there, and it is easy to see why--clear waters, endless horizon, and a great bonus-the hidden view of the monastery once one is in the sea. Slightly difficult to climb down, but the snack bar at the top of the staircase more than compensates.
