My wife and I had a Lyrarakis white a couples of days ago with dinner and loved it, so we decided to visit the winery on our way to South Crete... The Cretan wines are making a name for themselves and the Lyrarakis brothers are definitely part of the reason. The host was lovely knowledgeable and added a lot to... More

We went from the city centre to this winery by taxi. Even though we were late by half an hour for our booking the very friendly girl doing the tour accommodated us and showed us what we missed with the next group she was running. We had a taste of quite a few wines and a very generous taste at... More

We took friends visiting, from the UK, on a wine tasting trip to this winery. They had never done anything like this before and really enjoyed hearing about the different grapes and the wine they produced. The old barrels and the cool air in the winery was a relief from the hot weather and very interesting with pictures ad information.... More

We went there with our French friend. Everyone was so polite and patient. You could say that this people really love what they are doing. We tasted all of the wines they make and a very friendly girl was telling us everything about each wine we were tasting. Although the wine tasting is free of charge they could add some... More

We visited three wineries in the area and this was the best. Its tasting room is situated in the middle of its scenic vineyards, crowned by snowcapped mountains in the background. The staff couldn't be friendlier, giving us an excellent private tour. Finally, it produces some wonderful wines unique to Crete. Two of its varietals are nearly extinct and found... More

All the positive comments are on the mark! Two hours of pleasure: delicious wine and cheese, and very friendly hosts. Also, no pressure to buy, which is refreshing. Cab it, if possible. $50 euro round trip from near town center of you book through your hotel.
