The Archaeological Museum in Heraklion, which normally has about 20 rooms for viewing, is under construction with only one room open. It has a number of artifacts on display, but I was disappointed with the limited showing. The entrance fee has not changed to reflect the situation. It probably will not open for some time. The museum is now only open until 3pm. We found that out when we showed up at 4pm, and it was closed. All guide books and websites said the museum was open until 8pm Tues-Sun. This must be a recent change because the old hours sign is visable under the new one. The museum has a great collection of Minoan... more
