Belonging to a large European family of aquariums, the Cretaquarium offers its visitors the unique chance to plunge into the great marine world of the Mediterranean. From the big hunter sharks to the tiny seahorses, the sensational jellyfish, the diversity of marine life is set off against underwater Cretan seascapes such as the rock formations at Matala( South Crete)and the sea bed at Vai(North East Crete). « less

I loved the animals the aquarium featured. The overall layout was one big loop. You enter one way and come out the other. I like this set up. It ensures you don't miss anything! The gift shop has an excellent selection! I wish I had more time to browse.

Clean and well organized aquarium with lots of interesting fishes and sea animals. Air conditioned. Easy to find by car by following the road side signs.

Very interesting and exciting place highly recommended for people visiting this island and want to see something new and grand. The whole place is quite spacious and very well organized. The while reason I rated this so low is because of the restaurant outside the aquarium, the portions of the food were extremely overpriced and small, the most basic meals... More

Nicely organised, rather spacious pools, even sharks have enough place for maneuvering. There were lots of people but we didnt feel that space is overcrowded. Extended excibition of the Mediterranean under-sea flora and faune. very helpful stands with explaining material.Absoletely charming souvenir shop and good snack-salad bar.

I stayed only a few days with my family and this was proposed to us to visit. It definitely is a well structured aquarium and it can be fun for the kids. Close to Heraklion capital city. Worth a visit

Cretaquarium in Gouves gives you a good idea about the sealife around Crete. The ticket is a little bit expensive. Fantastique to be so close to the sharks!

Pleasant, but much like any other aquarium. Clean and informative and wonderfully cool on a hot day.

Visited the Aquarium in June while on holiday at Sensatori in Analipsi. We got a taxi from the hotel which cost EUR15 each way but was much easier than catching the bus especially as there is a taxi rank outside the Aquarium. We spent 1.5-2 hours in there and it was much better than some Aquariums we have visited in... More
