Only 3 of us on train......was nice way to spend 40 minutes and the guide was a fountain of knowledge! Mainly about local gossip and a little about the area! Very funny tho!

Much the same as many of these sort of rides and at €12 return is expensive, the local bus is €1.70 each way and is air conditioned as well though there are only 4 busses a day from Elounda and back. If you are up to the walk it is a nice walk 4.5Km with plenty of bars to greet... More

This was a brilliant trip on the Happy Train. What a way to see more of Elounda and surrounding area. Along the coast line to Plaka and up into the mountain, stopping at places of interest along the way and also in a local Taverna for refreshments. The views along the way were tremendous with interesting commentary from the very... More

THE village of Mohos is something of a frustration. We reached it from Stalis, climbing up the mountain on the Happy Train which offered wonderful views down to the sea. Once there we were met by a guide who spent an hour trunding round the village where we saw the war memorial, several quaint homes and several churches, but when... More

This trip went past Vrouhas all the way to Seles to see the original family run olive oil press and factory, where i bought some oil (not obligatory) which is the best oil i've ever had. The trip stopped for photos and a look round Vrouhas, even time for a Raki or Coke. Very enjoyable and more value for money... More

Despite having arrived in Elounda a week early, we managed to get tickets for this season's first outing of the Elounda Happy Train from Elounda to Vrouhas. What a great trip. Agnetta (?) the tour guide is a very cheerful and friendly lovely Greek lady who made the trip fun and interesting. Its a shame that the train is no... More

This is still a nice way to be ferried around the area but I was disappointed to find that it no longer stopped at Plaka (which has some nice shops!) due to some municipal problem,

Took this trip from Elounda, via Plaka, Vrouhas and finally arriving in Seles. Ziggy, the tour guide is English and shares his knowledge of the area, as well as a few jokes!!! At Seles you visit an old Olive mill and see how they used to harvest the olives, there is also an opportunity to buy local olive oil, honey... More
