was not sure what to expect but it was great fun and a lovely relaxing way to see some of the sights. Stopped at a tavern which was clean with good food.

Very knowledgeable tour guide Take the blue train from elounda or plaka Good value for money costing only €16 each Nice ride up to the mountains with some brilliant views of the whole island and a stop off at a nice little tavern for food and drink

My wife and I took the Happy Train (16 euros pp) from Elounda along the coast road to Plaka and then up into the mountains to visit a small, local village that has a very beautiful church. We had a pleasant and cheap lunch (not included in ticket price) at a taverna. The views from above Plaka were lovely and... More

Mountain trip from Elounda on Sunday at 12.45pm, back at 4.00pm. Pay for tickets in 2 parts, 7 euros each to Plaka return, then 10 euros each for the tour round to 2 mountain villages. The train leaves from the roadside atation opposite Rudi's bar. Excellent trip with a good and amusing guide in the shape of "Ziggy". Go with an... More

The train ride along the coast and up into a mountain village was beautiful and we had a short guided interesting walk and a super lunch in the mountain village.

Take a trip on the happy train and enjoy a happy day with lots of smiles. My experience of these road trains elsewhere has involved a short trip around the town centre with a tape recorded commentary. On the the Happy Train the trip is much longer - around 5kms- and involves several stop offs including the chance to have... More

We done this today. So it cost €7 each to go as far as plaka which is 4.5kms away. You then pay €10 each to go up the mountain in plaka as more guests get picked up. I would recommend making your own way over and back from plaka. We stopped in seles for 20 mins with absoutly nothing to... More

A lovely little trip with the most breathtaking views over Elounda, Plaka and Spinalonga. Stopping off at Sellas, a tiny village with only 17 residents, and Vrouhas, where you can stop for food at a taverna named 'Psomi Kai Alati' or join Ziggy for a drink further down the hill - wishing I'd done the latter but as the children...
