This is an excellent museum. As someone with an interest in typography and printing I was very impressed by the size of the collection and how well it was displayed. The building provides the perfect space for the large number of presses including a working copy of the Gutenberg printing press. Being able to see some of the presses working... More

A hidden gem in Crete. An incredibly well put together exhibit, great history, and great guides. Right off the main highway. If you have an hour, go. You won't regret it.

This is a nice museum and the guide gave a great tour. There are lots of signs from the junction at Souda. The map on Trip Advisor is accurate. It is in a small industrial area right beside the new national road.

This museum is tucked away in an industrial park about five kilometers from the center of town, but it is worth the trip. It has an amazing collection of printing presses and related materials. The museum manager gave us a personal tour, which is a great introduction to the history of printing. They also have a great permanent exhibit on... More

As a designer and an artist, this museum had to be one of the highlights of my trip. The staff provided an excellent private tour of the facility, showcasing the history of letterpress and printing. You even get to test some of the equipment to see how it works! I wish I had access to museums like this where I... More

We got there and it was closed, but they were cleaning everything. So, naturally, the creator gave us a free private tour of the whole place for an hour and a half, including a really cool art exhibit. Her English was incredible and then they wouldn't even accept a donation, they were just incredible. Also, surprisingly(?) interesting! I'm normally a... More

Albeit being located in an industrial area, it is beside the printing press itself and is accessible to all who love the written word. Fascinating to see the linotypes and to learn the history of printing. The museum was closed but we called and made an appointment for a private tour, led by a passionate and obliging journalist, Maria. Definitely... More

Though this place is in a tucked away part of the city it had so much to offer. My husband found this place for me as I am a graphic designer obsessed with all things type. If you have any interest in printing, books, or history, GO. Maria was the only person there and gave us our own private tour... More

If you are even a little interested in typography and printing you should see this little museum. For me this is more interesting than archeology and this museum was totally unexpected to be found in Crete. What a nice surprise! :-) We had a great guide and did get the opportunity to try some equipment hands on (great if you... More
