Nearly 20 hectares of land are waiting to welcome you, full of fruit trees from all over the world, herbs, medicinal and ornamental plants in a park different from others, where the land’s formation and the region’s microclimate make it a paradise for hundreds of plants and animals! In the midst of this colorful and vivid landscape stands a burnt centennial olive tree, a memorial and a reference to the dismal fires of 2003, the park’s history and origin. The newest and one of the most interesting sites of the Prefecture of Chania lies only 18 kilometers outside the city, on the feet of the White Mountains. It is ideal for visitors of all ages, combining enjoyments that only Crete can offer! « less

Having some spare time and a hire car I decided to visit here. The forest fire that had devastated the area 11 years ago had coincided with a walking holiday, and knowing how bad the devastation had been, I did not really expect much. Instead I liked it so much I went twice - it's really interesting with great views... More

We went there first with TripAdvisor's pointer, but ended up in theriso gorge... Spent more than 4 hours driving up and down the location trying to find the botanical Park. On the second try the next day, we tried it with a normal map. It was laid on the other side of the mountain, 30km apart from each other! But... More

We had a wonderful trip. A beautiful leisurely walk through some very interesting gardens. Lots of plants and trees I had never seen before. You are greeted when you arrive by very friendly staff who give you fruit and let you choose a sun hat and walking sticks to borrow for the duration. We went in August - a very... More

I'm no gardener so I wasn't really looking forward to my wife's suggestion of a botanical park, but I really enjoyed it. An amazing variety of interesting plants in beautiful surroundings with a great restaurant - free water and use of sun hats and walking sticks are nice touches and the family management are very friendly and informative. Well worth... More

...especially if you go by car. Road through citrus gardens and mountains is really fantastic! But you should have some experience as driver. In the park a lot of tropical and subtropical plants - it is really good place for not very intensive walking. Also good place just for relax.

The park is along the road that connects Fournes with Omelos. It is easy to find and very beautiful. It has plants coming from all over the world. It is a pleasure to walk along the paths of the garden, look at the plants and smell their perfume. You may also see gooses, turtles and peacocks crossing your way! The... More

This is a place where you can spend half or full day easily, if you are interested in plants and nature. Take good shoes with you while the paths go up and down. I also recommend eating in there.

I don't enjoy driving in Crete but the journey was worth while, if you have any interest in gardens this is the place for you.we were offered slices of fresh orange before our 2k walk around the gardens at your own pace. It is lovely, hats, walking sticks and water are provided if needed. We stayed for lunch which was... More

I was surprised by the variety of herbs and trees on that place. It is not a very famous place in Chania, but if you like phytology and votanology, I am sure you would like it.
