Nearly 20 hectares of land are waiting to welcome you, full of fruit trees from all over the world, herbs, medicinal and ornamental plants in a park different from others, where the land’s formation and the region’s microclimate make it a paradise for hundreds of plants and animals! In the midst of this colorful and vivid landscape stands a burnt centennial olive tree, a memorial and a reference to the dismal fires of 2003, the park’s history and origin. The newest and one of the most interesting sites of the Prefecture of Chania lies only 18 kilometers outside the city, on the feet of the White Mountains. It is ideal for visitors of all ages, combining enjoyments that only Crete can offer! « less

We had a great few hours at the Botanical Garden and were impressed that this was a site that had been subject to a fire which had destroyed the habitat. The brothers have made an impressive garden and we were amazed at the variety of trees. We were rather disappointed with the presentation of the lunch but perhaps we had... More

The walk around the gardens is 1 km long, although you can take a short route that is only 1/2 km. For lovers of flowers, trees and all things botanical it is a little piece of heaven. It is not huge but it is very well maintained. One particular point of interest is that the resturant is inexpensive and very... More

This was one of our nicest days out among the hills and a wonderful range of trees, shrubs and herbs. The situation on a hillside makes it special, different from other botanical parks or gardens. It's quite moving to think it has been created on land ravaged by fire. You'll see evidence in the rather beautiful blackened olive-stumps placed around... More

Far more interesting and interesting than my wife thought it would be. Every fruit and nut tree/bush/shrub you can imagine and many you've never heard of. The "zoo" not much to write home about but overall the park is well worth a visit, with a nice restaurant with wonderful views. Don't ask for the Botanical fruit salad, unless you like... More

This Botanic Garden is quite new and wasn't there 15 years ago on our last trip to Chania. We loved it. Beautiful garden set on a hillside with a beautiful drive to get to it through the mountains. On arrival you are greeted like an old friend and given a cold bottle of water each for the walk, included in... More

I was in Botanical park today with my wife. We were astonished about the fact that there is so much to see. After coming back we stayed two hours at the restaurant. We got very tasty food and friedly service. The fruits and cups of tea delighted us on the house. I recommend to everybody visiting Chania area. However, it... More

We took a bus to the park that left at around 9.00 and returned by 14.00 bus. It cost 2,5 euros, if I remember correctly. The garden is lovely with many species of plants. They also have a small zoo there) The parkwas founded and is run by 4 brothers which makes it even more interesting. there's also a restaurant... More
