Similar to Phaestos but smaller. If you have visited Phaestos I suggest you skip this unless you really like ruins. If you do decide to go here and Phaestos be sure and buy the combined ticket, it will save you a little money.

This is very interesting archaeological site connected with the Minoan culture and Mycenaean period which is very close (4km) to the Festos palace (you can buy a combined ticket for both sites - it is cheaper). The site isn't small but also it is not large as the Festos palace. It was almost empty of tourists during our visit. You... More

The ancient stairs and streets were in great condition and it was easy to visualise the buildings. Make sure you take the road near to Timbaki and don't go via Phaestos - the road is awful!
