This is a truly beautiful place, accessible only by ferry, where you can find peace, quiet and tranquillity. Get the ferry from Hora Sfakion, get off, find somewhere you fancy to stay, there's a good choice, and just chill out. If you really want some excitement get the little boat to the next bay, Sweetwater, where there's a taverna and... More

The village with out roads! This place is magic - do not miss it. Walk among Roman ruins. Near to them is a tiny landing stage where you can dive into the sea.

Authenic Greek atmosphere and a good ZEN break without cars or traffic. Not a place for people looking for disco night life.

It was part of our holiday plans for this year, we went to and stayed in Hora Sfakion in 2012 after a drive over the mountains from Almyrida. When there we thought about going to Loutro but in the end did not and spent a lovely time in Hora Sfakion. This year though we wanted to go and stay in... More

This tiny little village was highlight of our visit to Crete. Tucked in a bay and only accessible by boat it's one of the best places where you can really relax. With endless walking trails, good food, wonderful people, lovely beaches you can never go wrong with this place.

Amazing, picturesque place with crystal clear water, white houses and no cars nor motorbikes. Little greek version of paradise. Worth a day trip and if you are in mood for a romantic weekend you can stay even longer. Make sure to visit Blue House Restaurant - great, fresh food and you can swim while waiting for your meal :)

Don't come to Loutro for discos, nightlife and loud parties. DO come if you love spectacular seascapes, magnificent mountains and warm welcomes! The stars at night over the Libyan sea are like nowhere else in the world - we love Loutro!

Loutro is a very beautiful small village in southern Crete, in the prefecture of Chania. You can go there with a small ferry from Sfakia. It is very interesting to watch not only people entering the ferry, but also a lot of supplies, food mainly, as there is no road going to Loutro (only a footpath from Sfakia, which is... More

We took a small boat from Sfakia. In twenty minutes we arrived. The amazing view that reminds you the colors of the Cyclades islands, welcomes you. There are a lot of restaurants with local cuisine, as well as fresh fish. Also you can find small shops to buy your souvenirs. We had lunch at Helios Restaurant, that was an excellent... More

Loutro worth a visit as you travel around south Crete. You can go by small ferry leaving Sfakia 4-5 times a day or privately with taxi boat which will cost you around 35+ depending on how many persons you are travelling. It's nice place to relax and stay for 3-4 nights, I think more it will be boring maybe. Avoid... More
