One of the most quiet bay in the south Crete! There isn't road so you can come only by boat . The sea water is clear because the beach is with small stones .It is very nice location for a small stay !!!

We travelled here by ferry to spend the day, but ended up catching a boat back after 3 hours. We do not sun bathe, ramble or like to sit in a taverna all day. The whole village is just hotels, bars and tavernas, and everything is overpriced here. The sea is one of the clearest I have seen and I... More

I saw photos of Loutro in a travel book before leaving for Crete on vacation in 2013 and decided that I wanted to see if the water was really that blue. The port closet to me for getting to Loutro was the city of Chora Sfakion. Staying in Heraklion, the drive to Chora Sfakion was a bit of an adventure... More

The place is magnificent. Among the very best spots in Crete and probably Greece. But it's a big pity that most of the hotels and the restaurants that operate in this lovely place are far from decent. Totally inconsistent with the amazing landscapes and Crette in general.

Make sure you go to the fab restaurant at Marmara Beach. Extremely friendly and relaxed and really delicious sfakian food -- especially the bread baked in their own wood oven. The owners have a restaurant in Chania too called Christostomos. You can walk to the beach from Loutro (provided you don't get vertigo and you have good walking shoes) or... More

We took a boat trip to Loutro from Hora Sfakion. Boat is the only means of transportation to the village, as there are no roads to it. If you wish to spend a very relaxing day, this is the place. Or more days, as there are plenty of apartment for rent. If you wish to take a walk, there is... More

From the sea Loutro looks idyllic and beautiful in a little bay. But when you arrive, you will see, that Loutro has no normal greek life. Loutro has only tourists and the greeks, who serve the tourists. If you like a silent tourist-enclave without esperiences, you can perhaps stay in Loutro. If you want to have a normal life around... No roads lead to Loutro. The village is like a little treasure on the Libyan sea. Great restaurants and a very nice pebbles beach on the east end.

Beautiful white-coloured village without car access. Easy reachable after 5 kilometer trekking from Chora Sfakion. Very enjoyable walk!

The most beautiful little town, it felt so much like home while I was there. Very quiet, and laid back. The people are so friendly, the food is amazing and the water is pristine. Plenty around if you hike to the nearby beaches or gorges, rent a boat or rent a kayak. Evenings are beautiful as the sun sets over... More
