I was visiting Greece in April of 2015 and one of the places I visited was Delphi. It is an ancient religious center with ancient ruins, and a museum containing to artifacts found at the ancient Sanctuary to the Gods of Delphi. The landscape of Delphi is inspiring. On my trip to Delphi, my driver (Manos) drove me along a... More

Walking distance from the town, (have a wonderful coffee in one of the many little cafes on the way) A very well appointed and cared for museum of the local history. Importantly, it is wheelchair friendly, Detailed information boards and helpful staff. Great displays. On exit, refresh with another coffee and purchase some water, you will need it for the... More

If driving by car, there are parking spaces along the main drag, free but extremely limited. The museum is a treasure house, but the directions for navigating one's way through are not always immediately clear. So, for example, many do not get into the ground floor to the left of the ramp for the physically-challenged. Here one will find an... More

This museum was OK for artifacts, although the best have already taken off to Archaeological Museum in Athens. However, they had guards posted in every room for the express reason of preventing anyone from taking any kind of picture that looked like a POSE. So if you like to take selfies or any kind of picture of another person, don't... More

Arriving at 10am, we were greeted with massive coachloads of people cramming into what is a small museum. Noisy guides, pushy visitors and hardly room to breathe made the experience unbearable. The ruins next door were even more crowded: and this in early May before the holiday season.

Having walked the ruins of Delphi, we made for the cool of the Museum. Though small, it is packed with some amazing pieces that support the story of the grandeur of Delphi. The Charioteer is impressive but my favourites were the 2 ladies (heads) with hammered gold jewellery and the stunning marble carving of the youth, Antinoos. Allow yourself time... More

Delphi is high on a mountainous rock. The museum houses all that remained in Delphi after it was destroyed by the Persians. It was a hub back in history and had so much but most was robbed. You can still tell how rich this city was. There was the Temple of Apollo with the detailed stories on its pediments. This... More

You will see things that look like they could have been created yesterday, they are so perfect, yet they are from around 500BC. The only thing that bothered us were the tour guides that would gather their people around a specific item and then not let others in to see that item. We thought that those people were rude and... A museum with very interesting displays. I was disappointed when I tried to take a photo of my husband near the Sphinx. They told me that I could only take a photo of the Sphinx, but not with my husband near there. First time I come accross such a regulation. You are eighter allowed or not allowed to take photos.
