The Acropole Museum in Athens has much more exhibits than could be seen previously about ancient Greece at other museums. It features replicas of the Elgin Marbles and is very comfortable to view and examine the exhibits one by one. The spaciousness of the museum makes it a unique experience at hand.

The Museum is laid out in ultra modern style and the exhibits are amazing. Do not miss the Carytids which are on display, albeit undergoing restoration. Take time and dedicate 3 hours here.

This is a modern museum full of statues. Our local tour guide (Catherine) gave us a wonderful lesson on ancient Greek. It’s a shame it can’t house more original arts work from Acropolis. Elgin Marbles will be much fitting here for a museum built just for Acropolis. You cannot take photos here other than the Caryatid (6 maiden, the Kore... More

Wonderful new modern building housing some beautiful ancient artefacts. Very informative info boards to give you all the info you could need on the history/mythology. Great coffee lounge too, very inexpensive for a museum, great coffee and some tasty snacks too, my daughter had the chocolate mousse, which was a massive portion and so delicious.

We went up to the Acropolis first, then came back to the museum on the 2nd day. However, I honestly thought if we had went to the museum first to understand the Parthenon, we would have better appreciated the Acropolis when we went up. My favourite segment is the video-watching on level 3 because it explains a lot on the... More

I have a very limited interest in Greek history, and there were other things we wanted to do in Athens rather than climb up to the Acropolis, so we decided to visit the museum instead. Firstly, it is air conditioned, which is quite important in Athens in August. We found there was enough to keep us occupied for a while,... More

Well historically this place is the must see if you are in Athens because it carries such an incredible depth of history that everybody will amaze about. If you are going there in pick seasons try to get your entry tickets in advance probably on line because the heat during July and August is unbearable (particularly for me).

Trying to absorb the magnitude of this place is unreal. To imagine that all of these objects were once a part of the massive complex that's perched about you is unreal. If you visit the Acropolis, make sure to visit the museum to get the entire picture.

Architecture of the museum itself is spectacular. A little bit disappointing that photos are banned in most areas of the museum as they are personal mementos of the visit. The exhibits are presented okay and follow a logical order. Overall it is worth an hour of your life.

A gorgeous museum with great views, our only complaint is that the map they give you is very basic and they don't have self-guided tours
