We spent a wonderful evening learning to make traditional Greek appetizers, salads, and a main course of lamb/potatoes. We enjoyed cooking, drinking wine, and having dinner with families from other countries. Warning: The class lasts 6 hours. We began at 5:30pm and didn't leave the restaurant until 11:30pm. The tour description stated 3 hours - but it was closer to... More

My partner and I went on the Athens Food tour in October with Despina as our guide. Despina was extremely informative and very passionate about both Athens and its history, especially from the perspective of its culture and food. Our group was small which was a bonus and covered a few different nationalities. We would definitely recommend this tour in... More

We loved the food tour in Athens that was led by Vicky. Vicky gave us a real taste of the local food and culture. We visited many small places that we would never find ourselves and we also had the opportunity to hear about the special traditions. Vicky was very knowledgeable and it was a real pleasure to discuss with... More

My husband and I did a food tour with Artemis one of the two days we had in Athens. She was so knowledgeable and personable, and the food selection was on point. We made several stops that we loved so much we bought things for friends and family, and it was all affordable and genuine. It was a leisurely walk,... More

Here's a great way to get a behind the scenes tour of Athens... The guide takes you to a nice mix of markets, shops, deli's and restaurants. Very interesting and fun way to get a non touristic perspective and taste the spices, fruit, olives and oils that form a foundation of Greek food.

I found the tour to be exceptionally fascinating! I was blown away by the knowledge and the theories of the evolution of food in Europe that came with this tour. It brings a totally new perspective on what we consider traditional in modern days (even very recently), mostly as a result of globalization. My only reason for not giving the... More

Athens Walking Tours - Food Tour. I chose to do this tour, as it was only a half day which was perfect on the last day on my visit to Athens, before heading to the airport to catch an evening flight home. Our guide was called Despina, who was also the owner of the company. She was very good, relaxed... More

Artemis was a wonderful guide, leading us through the streets of Monastiraki to sample all sorts of local cuisine (and debunking a few myths about what foreigners think about traditional Greek food!). We tasted local olive produce, cured meats, spirits, desserts, all delicious and fascinating! I made the mistake of having a full breakfast before the tour so I was... More

Our guide Artemis is fun and knowledgable. She shows us the street food that Athens' people love, lead us thru the meat and fish market, spice shop that you shouldn't miss, and a lot more. We have so much fun and learn a lot about Greek culture. This is a must if you plan to visit Athens. Remember, Greek people... More

This was the first European food tour we have taken and we are hooked. Our guide Artemis was charming and informative. We learned so much about local food but also about Greek culture. We had wonderful stops to taste many treats and also did a little souvenir shopping on the way. Our last stop was for a nice treat of... More
