I have been to Athens three times now in the last year and Plaka is my best area. It is so quaint and pleasant to walk around. Cobbled little roads, every corner there is a suprise little jewellery shop. Gorgeous unspoilt old buildings, even the souvenir shops are old buildings. I have lived in Athens for the past year, and Plaka is my favorite spot! So many little shops, and cafes, and so many ancient ruins to see. You can wander down from the Acropolis, through the Ancient Agora, and there you are in Plaka. Great if you are looking for gifts or good food! more
