Bottom line: there are many other tour companies that make the Delphi/Meteora/Olympia trip, and they can definitely give you a better experience than Chat Tours. My experience with Chat Tour this summer (2-day trip in July to Delphi and Meteora) was very disorganized. Everything was running late, and the guides chastised us multiple times for not writing the name of... More

We took a three day tour withChar tours. Absolutely loved our guide Irini. She was very knowledgeable and passionate about Greek history and culture. Her English was impeccable and she made the trip very enjoyable. The driver "George" was careful and very cautious. Absolutely loved the trip to Olympia and Delphi. The hotels (owned by Chat tours) were nice, clean,... More

We had a wonderful experience with Chat Tours. However, it started rough. We were told to be in the hotel lobby at 7:45 to be picked up by a tour representative for the half-day tour of Athens. Unfortunately, the group essentially forgot about us and we had to call the group to pick us up (at 9:15!). They did apologize... More

Changing bus: Chat tour picked us up from our hotel and went on to pick up a few others. We changed bus when arrived at the Amalia Hotel at Athens and again spent some time to wait for more people to join us. After lunch at Delphi, we again changed bus to join another group to further our Meteora tour... More

We did the half-day tour with Chat Tours and it was a good and informative experience. Our guide was clearly very knowledgeable and we enjoyed the combination of the walking around the Acropolis followed by the bus tour of some of the main city sights. We added the option to tour the museum with our guide which we felt was... More

Had a 2 days Delphi Meteora tour, the beginning of the tour was alright, nothing really special. Delphi tour was okay and the tour deteriorated after leaving Delphi because the tour guide who took over was irritable most of the time, and very authoritarian. Unfriendly was probably the best way to describe her, including quarreling with the nunnery nuns while... More

The four-day Chat Tour is the best way to maximize time and and see important sites (Corinth Canal, Mycenae, Epidaurus, Nafplio, Olympia, Delphi, Thermopylae and Meteora). Our guide, Joy, is very knowledgeable and conveys important, relevant information in a very accessible manner. She includes lots of Greek myths in her explanations, which was really a good way to help our... More

Our tour, booked through Viator, with Chat tours was well worth the very reasonable charge. Our guide was completely knowledgeable, professional, and extremely funny! We did the half-day tour of Athens and the bus trip to Sounion. Although a full-day, the bus trip was a great time to relax, take in some scenery, and see the impressive Temple of Poseidon... More

I took the day tour to Mycenae. The guide was a bit gruff when I got on the bus as I was late, however I was collected from my hotel by the tour company and driven to a central location where everyone was distributed to their various tours. Once I was at the meeting point I realised it was only... More

Staying in Syntagma

Neighborhood Profile
Syntagma
Perhaps the best place to get your bearings is Syntagma Square, crowned by the imposing Parliament building on its upper side and surrounded by other large structures, such as the exclusive Hotel Grande Bretagne. The grand avenues that lead towards Omonia are also full of massive Neoclassical edifices like the Numismatic Museum and those around smaller Platia Kolokotroni. Here you will find lots of travel agents, bookshops and fashion shops, especially on Ermou Street. Just south of Syntagma Square, you can take a breather in the lush National Gardens, which extend into the grounds of the Zappeio palace and beyond to the ancient Temple of Olympian Zeus.
