Great tour - 4 Day Classical Greece Tour: Mycenae, Epidaurus, Olympia, Delphi and Meteora

At first, we were reluctant to take a four day tour as we had never done it before (we always took day tours) but it was the best way to see a lot of Greece in a short period of... read more

My husband and I usually hate big group tours. But this one is an exemption. Our travel agent has booked this tour for us as part of the package we availed. We were at least 20 in our bus (Btw buses are another thing we don't like). We were both surprised that in the end we actually enjoyed the tour.... More

Our tour guide was excellent, but the rest of the trip was not. We saw a few landmarks on the bus tour portion (a quick photo op at the base of the Parthenon, a quick drop in on the original Olympic stadium, and a drive by of the Gardens and Parliament). However, the main purpose behind the tour seems to... More

When we were in Athens last week, we booked several tours through Chat Tours, and we were uniformly satisfied! Each evening, they called our hotel to give us the pick up information for the next day's tour, and each morning we were picked up exactly on schedule and then returned to the same location after the tour. The tour guides... More

The tour is a good way to get to know more about the city and the highlights. It was typical of most tours in that they picked you up at your hotel and took you to a "staging" area. There you sit on a bus as they get organized and move you to another bus to start your tour of... More

At first, we were reluctant to take a four day tour as we had never done it before (we always took day tours) but it was the best way to see a lot of Greece in a short period of time. The Epidaurus theater is fantastic; the Olympia site - my family's favorite; Delphi, the best in my opinion; and... More

My friend and I were looking to book a day trip to Delphi online and found this one on Viator. A hotel pick up was offered or you can meet at a hotel in the city. There was a bit of waiting around once we all got the hotel so I would advise to simply make your own way there... More

I booked this tour through my hotel's reception. Pick-up from the hotel was on time and the bus to Floisvos Marina, where we would embark on the boat, was perfectly clean. The crew welcomed us and was quite helpful, polite and smiling during the whole cruise. Most of the crew members are multilingual and announcements were made in many different... More

I'm sure glad I did this tour with Chat Tours. As with their other tours the tour guide was excellent! She made the city and history come alive. I appreciated what we were looking at so much more. Try to do this on the first or second day of your holiday. You'll learn and see where to visit for the... More

Just completed the half day Athens tour + Acropolis museum, guided by Daphne. From the moment I was collected (2mins early!) from my hotel and shown to a very comfortable mini coach, I had a good vibe about the day, despite the poor weather. Daphne's English was superb and her knowledge seemingly limitless. The itinerary had been put together well... More

We booked their day tour to ancient Mycenae and Epidaurus, via the Corinth Canal, through Viatour and it was very well done. The price included pick up from central Athens hotels and we had a smart Mercedes mini-bus for a small group of 9 people. The guide was extremely knowledgeable and we learned a lot about ancient Greek history. This... More

Staying in Syntagma

Neighborhood Profile
Syntagma
Perhaps the best place to get your bearings is Syntagma Square, crowned by the imposing Parliament building on its upper side and surrounded by other large structures, such as the exclusive Hotel Grande Bretagne. The grand avenues that lead towards Omonia are also full of massive Neoclassical edifices like the Numismatic Museum and those around smaller Platia Kolokotroni. Here you will find lots of travel agents, bookshops and fashion shops, especially on Ermou Street. Just south of Syntagma Square, you can take a breather in the lush National Gardens, which extend into the grounds of the Zappeio palace and beyond to the ancient Temple of Olympian Zeus.
