This tour was advertised as : "an evening tour with a pleasant panoramic drive ........ The Acropolis, illuminated and mysterious will captivate your sight. Passing from the Old Olympic Stadium,...................Finally we walk through the narrow pedestrian streets of Plaka the old city of Athens, to dine in a Greek typical restaurant with floor folklore show..........dancers in traditional costumes" We were... we took the half day walking tour of Athens. Our guide was very energetic and enthusiastic. But there were tons of tourists in the Acropolis and I did feel that chat tours should think about investing in radios. It was very difficult to hear the guide, the tours we did in Italy were much better coordinated because of the radio... More

We did the Acropolis & City Highlights (or somesuch) tour: Acropolis itself was nice enough (of course)... but the tour was terrible. It took 75 minutes from our initial pickup at our hotel before the tour actually even started. Chat Tours has this thing where the Amalia Hotel is their gathering point. Which is great if you're staying there, but... More

This was our second visit to Delphi (the first 42 years ago), and not only was the tour fantastic, well worth the 2 hour bus ride, but the time went quickly because of the wonderful history, stories, and tales given by our excellent guide Costas. He also shared the current situation in Greece and how it has affected his family... More

Our day trip to Delphi was fantastic. Traveling from Athens to Delphi is a 6 hour round trip, and luckily the bus was very comfortable. We had enough time at the site and the museum to see almost everything, and if we were faster walkers we might have seen the one element we missed. Costas, our guide was very informative,... More

We took the 22 August tour to Delphi. It was our great fortune to have Costos's Tsevas as our guide. His knowledge was outstanding. Unfortunately we had 3 very selfish people who held the rest of us up and were extremely rude and arrogant. We greatly admired Costos's patience. The lunch was terrific! Thank you Chat Tours for a fabulous... More

I hired Chat Tours for 2 days of touring Athens. The first day we did 2 tours #3 in the morning with Dornia as our guide (excellent) and #4A in the afternoon both tours were fascinating and after the walking in the morning it was nice to have a bus ride along the coast. The next day we did tour... More

As the title says, I took the 3 day Delphi-Meteora tour. The 1st day was the best. The beginning was a bit weird because although the bus picked us up right next to our hotel, it just took us to another bus where all the passengers went separate ways. The explanations were confusing at this point and 2 different people... More

I hesitated between a 3 and a 4 star rating for this attraction as I did very much enjoy Delphi and Meteora, but I finally settled with three stars considering that I am reviewing the organization (or lack thereof) of the tour itself. I have read reviews of other clients confused with switching groups and buses, but we were fortunate... More

After we were picked up at our hotel, we joined others on a relaxing, informative ride through the Greek countryside. The tour guide was extremely knowledgeable about Greece, both past and present. The tour of Delphi was inspirational. Our only regret was that it too short.

Staying in Syntagma

Neighborhood Profile
Syntagma
Perhaps the best place to get your bearings is Syntagma Square, crowned by the imposing Parliament building on its upper side and surrounded by other large structures, such as the exclusive Hotel Grande Bretagne. The grand avenues that lead towards Omonia are also full of massive Neoclassical edifices like the Numismatic Museum and those around smaller Platia Kolokotroni. Here you will find lots of travel agents, bookshops and fashion shops, especially on Ermou Street. Just south of Syntagma Square, you can take a breather in the lush National Gardens, which extend into the grounds of the Zappeio palace and beyond to the ancient Temple of Olympian Zeus.
