I booked this tour through my hotel's reception. Pick-up from the hotel was on time and the bus to Floisvos Marina, where we would embark on the boat, was perfectly clean. The crew welcomed us and was quite helpful, polite and smiling during the whole cruise. Most of the crew members are multilingual and announcements were made in many different... More

I'm sure glad I did this tour with Chat Tours. As with their other tours the tour guide was excellent! She made the city and history come alive. I appreciated what we were looking at so much more. Try to do this on the first or second day of your holiday. You'll learn and see where to visit for the... More

Just completed the half day Athens tour + Acropolis museum, guided by Daphne. From the moment I was collected (2mins early!) from my hotel and shown to a very comfortable mini coach, I had a good vibe about the day, despite the poor weather. Daphne's English was superb and her knowledge seemingly limitless. The itinerary had been put together well... More

We booked their day tour to ancient Mycenae and Epidaurus, via the Corinth Canal, through Viatour and it was very well done. The price included pick up from central Athens hotels and we had a smart Mercedes mini-bus for a small group of 9 people. The guide was extremely knowledgeable and we learned a lot about ancient Greek history. This... More

We went on a great four day tour of all of Greece! Joy was a great guide, and her English was perfect (thanks to her Canadian relatives). As an archaeologist, she had all the necessary knowledge to guide us around all the major and minor sites that we visited on this amazing tour (Mycenea, Delphi, Olympia, Meteora, Epidaurus, Nauplio, Thermopylae,... Delphi was the center of the earth in Greek mythology - so it is worth a visit to the Temple of Apollo, and the Delphi Museum. Our CHAT Tours guide was Stathis Tsantekipes, and he was one of the best tour guides from any tour that we have taken in any city. He was knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the importance... More

Very disappointed with this tour, a total waste of money. We were only four passengers in this particular tour, but we were not even introduced to warm up the atmosphere in the bus. The night tour was disappointing, quick and rushed, no reference to the sites visited other than the name. The dinner was at a tavern in Plaka -... More

First of all, they sell two hotel levels for this tours; tourist class and first class. I emailed Chat tours directly before booking and asked them the difference between the two classes. In the reply I was told they actually use a different hotel, not just a room upgrade, and if I booked directly with them I would receive a... More

Though the guides have a perfect English, sometimes they were giving us lots of useless details during site explanation. A real waste of time. They aren't punctual. They say for example that the tour duration is 6 hours but in reality it is 8 hours which could result a real problem for the ones who planned other trips or who... More

I took trips to Delphi, Mycenae, Epidaurus, as well as to Cape Soumion on a recent trip to Athens, booking the trips through Viator. They were all day tours. The cape trip was half a day, the Delphi was a full day, and the third day was Mycenae and Epidaurus combined. I also gook a half day Athens sight seeing... More

Staying in Syntagma

Neighborhood Profile
Syntagma
Perhaps the best place to get your bearings is Syntagma Square, crowned by the imposing Parliament building on its upper side and surrounded by other large structures, such as the exclusive Hotel Grande Bretagne. The grand avenues that lead towards Omonia are also full of massive Neoclassical edifices like the Numismatic Museum and those around smaller Platia Kolokotroni. Here you will find lots of travel agents, bookshops and fashion shops, especially on Ermou Street. Just south of Syntagma Square, you can take a breather in the lush National Gardens, which extend into the grounds of the Zappeio palace and beyond to the ancient Temple of Olympian Zeus.
