Before the visit read about the history of the temple, so you can feel the vibrations of the site! Enjoy the deep blue of the Aegean sea joining the light blue of the sky and plan to stay for the spectacular red sunset, especially if on the same day happens a full moon! An once in a lifetime experience!!!

Once again, if you are in Athens, and you want a beautiful drive, this is it. It took us about an hour or so to drive from Athens to get to the temple, which is perched on a high hill over looking the mediterranean. You can just see miles and miles of beautiful ocean. It is quiet and removed. Didn't... More

What an experience to walk where Paul walked & see where Paul lived when he wrote some of the New Testament. Amazing experience. Amazing sites! The temple of Apollo was incredible! A must see if visiting Athens!

If you're afraid of heights, then it's too bad, but come to think of it where is there a temple that is not on top of a hill? But visiting the temple of the God of the Sun is definitely a must do while in Greece. It may just be a pile of columns on a hill, but I feel... More

All reviews but one and all the pictures are about the Temple of Poseidon at Cape Sounio! It is wrong to publish those here! There is a proper place for reviews about the Poseidon Temple at cape Sounio on TripAdvisor.

Great view from this promontory of the coastline and the Aegean. The grounds around the temple are being excavated and restored, so we could see what the area looked like before restoration started, and what the archeologists were finding as they dug.

You must visit this place if you're near Athens (e.g. you have accomodation there) just take a orange bus and after 1,5hrs (be sure with choosing coast-line route!) of driving you will be on the top! The view is breathtaking, moreover - if you've some free time just stay till the sunset, you won't regret that choice, as it's the... More

It is worth to visit it on the sunset. During summer period it may be very hot during the day. and thus, hard to enjoy it. But the light and the sun entering the sea make it unforgettable! If you are lucky enough to be in August, try to catch the full moon. The sight is open for the full... More
