Informative interesting and fun. Yannis gave a true Greek insight into the amazing history of Athens. His observations on the challenges facing the Greek people, their pride in the past and present - was an insight that I would not have gained from a large party tour of the city. I woukd recommend Yannis if you want A personal, friendly... More

Hello everyone, My partner and I visited Athens last week. I booked the tour a while ago after reading their reviews here, however I didn't set any expectations for it. Little did I know!!! Our guides were Tania and Lazarus - such lovely people. They have mastered customer service and their knowledge about the areas was amazing. We felt like... More

We were picked up by Lazaros & Tonia from our Hotel and boarded their immaculate Mercedes mini bus and visited many places and stopped to take photos whenever we wished, we saw some great places and felt that they went out of their way to not only show us what we had paid to see but took us along the... Just before our last day in Greece my boyfriend booked us a private tour with Yani for the Thermopylae monument and a tour in Delphi. Lazarus was our driver, and he was kind enough to pick up some local olive oil for us and have cold bottles of water before we traveled up the monuments in Delphi. We were taken... More

Best tour in Athens!!! Our driver Johnny was so nice to us, always willing to please us. He was early at our meeting place, he made sure we had enough water, he is so fluent in English, he knows so much about Greek history, everything was so interesting. The choices were perfect, we saw exactly what we wanted. If we... More

Our travel agent booked a private tour with Yanni Taxi Tours for our day in Athens. She also booked the transfers to and from the airport to our hotel with the same company. We could not have been more pleased. Each driver was on time or even early and friendly as well as informative. The cars were clean and comfortable.... More

We chose this service because of its TripAdvisor reviews and were very impressed. The taxi and guide arrived promptly at our hotel in Plaka and we spent a really pleasant day travelling up to visit Delphi - Lazarus our driver and Tanya the guide were really thoughtful and went out of their way to ensure we had an enjoyable day.

Pre-trip communication clear and timely. Driver arrives right on time and he's a Greek who lived in Australia - so totally fluent for my Greek wife and myself. The time of the drive to Delphi was very good - and the driving really safe and the car comfortable. The guide at Delphi was one of the best I've experienced anywhere... More

We used the taxi service for two private daily trips to Delphi and to Cape Sounion. The car was a minivan (we were a party of 3 persons), almost new and very confortable. Tony, our driver, was always on time, nice and very fluent in English; both trips were well planned. We really enjoined the two visits. In term of... More

We booked Yanni Athens Taxi Tour before we went on our cruise. It was far cheaper than the cruise line excursion and we saw more of the sites before being crowded out everywhere. Our driver although not a guide had a brilliant knowledge of all the ruins and sites. Told us where to stand at the changing of the guard... More

Staying in Syntagma

Neighborhood Profile
Syntagma
Perhaps the best place to get your bearings is Syntagma Square, crowned by the imposing Parliament building on its upper side and surrounded by other large structures, such as the exclusive Hotel Grande Bretagne. The grand avenues that lead towards Omonia are also full of massive Neoclassical edifices like the Numismatic Museum and those around smaller Platia Kolokotroni. Here you will find lots of travel agents, bookshops and fashion shops, especially on Ermou Street. Just south of Syntagma Square, you can take a breather in the lush National Gardens, which extend into the grounds of the Zappeio palace and beyond to the ancient Temple of Olympian Zeus.
