I thought that the segways would be difficult to drive, however it couldn't have been easier! And it definitely gave us a different view of the city while having fun at the same time. We actually did 2 different tours because we were having so much fun. The tour guides were very knowledgable as well!

We had no experience of these amazing machines but thought we'd give it a go. We both thought in the first 10 minutes "I'll never be able to do this; it is too scary". Then suddenly it feels totally natural and off we went. This was due in no small measure to the young lady who trained us very patiently... More

Four of us took the combi tour and despite one of our party being very wary of getting on a segway, we ALL had a great time. The tour was flexible after doing the Acropolis and we could vary it according to our interests (more history or the New Town). We wanted to see the changing of the guard which... More

A really fun and enjoyable way to get around the city. Our guide was really pleasant and knowledgeable about the local history. Topped by the ability to scoot around on a Segway.

A friend told me I should do this and I was never ever on a Segway. The instructions were easy and perfect. But what a way to visit the Monuments with a perfect explanation. No hop on hop off for me Anymore. Thank u Costas

We were on a Team Offsite , a group of 21 persons and we had a mixed of Segways and Bicycles around Athens. It was absolutely perfect and so well organized. The team from Segway Athens were just so nice and fun and they make the activity to be as perfect as it could be. We had a wonderful time... More

Our first Segway tour was of Paris which was excellent. This tour od Athens was disappointing compared as the guide did not give us much information on the sights we were viewing. Apart from that the tour is a bit short and doesn't cover a big area. Natasha was very nice otherwise thank you.

My son drove me mad wanting to go on one and I gave in even though I had never been on one! I was very nervous but the training by Natasha made me feel at ease very quickly. We enjoyed doing it and went on a brilliant tour around Athens to areas we may not have reached as the walking... More

I was going to book a Segway tour online, however the Athens Segway website is not a great website for information such as prices etc. I did some research and found that some tour operators were charging around 50-60 Euros per tour. I decided to wait until we arrived in Athens to sort out our Segway tour. I recommend you... More

This was my first time on a Segway and unfortunately I think the fact that it was in Athens has put me off similar tours elsewhere as these guys can take you round some amazing sights rather than just a boring park (as is often the case in other cities). It was a really great experience and the guide was... More

Staying in Plaka

Neighborhood Profile
Plaka
Due to its proximity to the Acropolis, Plaka remains the area where the majority of foreign visitors stay and play. Its attractive features include small squares, some notable museums and the beautiful Mitropolis cathedral, as well as a host of places to stay, eat and drink. Its pedestrian zones make it a pleasant place to escape from the city’s notorious traffic. Adrianou and Kidathineon Streets contain a number of souvenir shops, offering classier items than you will find in the Flea Market. The most rewarding section to explore is the upper reaches towards the Acropolis itself, where many old stone houses with tiled roofs have survived. Up here you can find leafier corners and the odd quaint taverna with unobstructed views of the ancient rock.
