Nice blokes and good pace - saw some great things and nice to be riding a bike rather than walking. Professional service, bikes in good condition and great stop for a coffee included. My daughter was unwell during the ride and these guys couldn't do enough for her / us. Book a tour now.

Sometimes you want to turn back those pages again and live life in back to school days... Athens was our first stop in Greece and the most beautiful and artistic city we have ever seen. We opted for this Bike trip through Tripi. I was bit skeptical about this trip but my wife kept on insisting and i was fortunate... More

If I had to find a complain it would be that it wasn't long enough, I could have gone longer to see more, and a lot of the pictures that you see poster here are places that we didn't visit. That being said I had an amazing time. The ride was enjoyable and easy, only a few uphills and only... More

No need for an e-bike. This is an easy ride. A great way to see the highlights of the city. A very impressive guide in Kostos. Glad we did this tour.

It was my first day in Athens and going on this bike tour with the crew of "Athens by Bike" was one of the best things I could do. Kostas was our lead guide and did an excellent job. He has studied history and is able to answer any questions our group had. We also had Manos and Vangelis, two... More

I love bike tours in big cities because you see so much more. This tour was especially good because Kostas was such a great guide. We didn't feel like we were on a tight time schedule and he was so natural and easy to chat to that it just felt like we were riding around with a very knowledgable friend.... More

It was a nice bike ride thru the city. We enjoyed the sights and the bike ride was not strenuous. We took a break for coffee. The guide was very good, gave us a lot of history. Because we were with teens, we would have enjoyed a longer ride, so Manos took it upon himself to give us a personal... More

My daughter and I booked this trip on July 6th. It was a great way to get to know the area of Athens, learn about the history, and discuss the city with a Greek guide who was very knowledgeable. Athens Bikes is very professional, and also has a high level of customer service, and communication. I'm a fan of bike... More

We joined the tour on our first day to Athens. It was the best way to get into the city’s history, myths and most important archaeological sites. Natalie, our guide, was gentle, knowledgeable and brought history into life. We also loved her recommendations for the rest of the weekend. Highly recommended!

Staying in Thissio / Makriyanni

Neighborhood Profile
Thissio / Makriyanni
Named after the well-preserved Thission (ancient temple of Hephaestus), Thissio is blessed with a small wooded park and some less frenetic streets that offer numerous quieter places to stay and eat. Largely pedestrianized Apostolou Pavlou Street runs between the Acropolis and forested Filopappou Hill, well worth climbing for more great panoramas, until it merges with Dionysiou Areopagitou Street. This leads to the up-and-coming area of Makriyanni, whose centerpiece is the magnificent new Acropolis Museum. Opposite the museum is the entrance to the southern slopes of the Acropolis, while the eponymous metro station nearby is at the top of Makriyanni Street, another strip of touristic cafés and restaurants.
