The riverboat had about 80 people on it and we were a little afraid it would be too crowded but this crew knows it's stuff! Everything was carefully orchestrated from breakfast at launch through snacks and lunch. The food was homemade on board and the wine plentiful. The views from inside the boat were good but even more stunning from... More

This is a beautiful long river and can be travelled along also by boat. All along there are fabulous views on the countrysides, vineyards and quaint villages. Stop like we did for luch at one of the many wineries in the area. A real treat. Well worth the trip up North from Lisbon.

A sunny afternoon is a great day for a trip on the river to go through the six bridges over the Douro. The boats were full but it was great value for 15 Euros to have a boat trip, port vaults visit and train visiting the sites of Porto. The train gave us the ability to gain our bearing and... More

An enjoyable afternoon spent on the combined boat trip and tour of Cockburns port distillery. 10 euros included probably 6 euros worth of tasting!

Take a day cruise along the Douro river and soak in the colorful architecture, acres of vineyards, craggy slopes and the famous bridges of Porto. Incredibly relaxing way to experience a UNESCO city while someone else does the "driving"...

Whilst in Porto take a break from the noise do the constant sirens and enjoy a river trip. The Douro separates Gaia and Porto. On both sides of the river there are restaurants and the area comes alive at night.

We had a nice day discovering Douro by boat. We leaved Porto in the morning, discovering a nice lanscape of the rives, quintas and rare villages . We arrived in the afternoon discovering the vineyards all over the hills under the sun.

LA great day trip on the River Douro. Take the train to Regua and the boat trip back to Porto (takes all day) passing through two amazing locks, one dropping 35 metres and the other 14 metres. Recommended

It is a steep descent to get down to the river, but there are great walks on both sides. There are plenty of shops and stalls to buy traditional Portuguese crafts as well as many places to eat and drink. You can also take river cruises to see the 6 bridges.

Loved the serenity of the cruise and enjoyed all of the places where we stopped and investigated. What made it even better was the very knowledgeable guide and of course the fabulous weather and food
