It was ok.

I LOVE river cruises. The commentary could have been a little more informative, but at least there WAS a commentary.

Ticket purchased as part of the Hop On/Off deal at 24 euros. The cost if purchased on the riverside was 12 euros. The boat took you to see the different bridges across the river. It was interesting to see the various housing/ buildings along side the river. It was a relaxing way to spend 45mins in the middle of the day.

Rented a car and drove through. Amazing scenery, lovely restaurants! And of course, great wine! Highly recommend visiting and finding a nice place to stay for a couple of nights.

A cruise on the river is beautiful if the weather is good. Also shop round before you buy the cruise ticket. There are some combined tickets with other attractions which cost less for the cruise.

What an important river for us wine and port aficionados. The Douro brings the wine to town and brings the port to the world. While walking along the riverside and passing the various port wine cellars is a perfect time to stop and to try one of those treasures.

We were lucky enough to stay directly overlooking the river, it was an amazing ever changing view. One of the best places that I have visited and I have been to lots. On our first day there was a river pageant so lots of lovely sail boats and costumes so we were very lucky to be there on 25/06 to... More

The best way to see river douro is to take a boat ride, passing through the 7 bridges. It was really worth it.

Full of street vendors with cheap goods etc. Just not my cup of tea. I don't care for big crowds. The area across the river was pretty nice. We enjoyed the gondola ride

We stayed in the studio had a great view of the river and old town. The scenery of the river is beautiful in the morning, day time, and evening. Although the place we stayed was too small, the scenery of the river compensated all. We didn't take the river cruise. However, we strolled both side and walked to the top... More
