We were on a short coach , cellar, and river visit. The bridges and wine history alone are interesting.

There is a plethora of river cruises to choose from , some even in what are claimed to be original port transports. Nevertheless, a cruise down this river and under as many of the very high bridges as possible is not to be missed. On both banks, and even above as you pass under bridge after bridge, there are fascinating... More

Great to drive around. We stayed in an old Quinta and enjoyed the food, red wine, old port and regional fare.

Very nice boat trip. Some lovely sights along the way.Didn't feel sick at all as it was a very smooth ride. The river got a little bit choppy at the end and a couple of us sitting near the edge of the boat got sprayed a bit,but nothing major.

River Douro, my suggestion is to take the all day boat ride, it is the best way to see the vine yards and the country side, with surprises at every bend in the river. Good value for the money, and the food and wine offered are excellent.
